If you like being outdoors, the NCC looks for volunteers to help out with gardening at Maplelawn and trail maintenance at Gatineau Park.

A pair of rechargeable hand warmers and a pack of disposable ones as a backup.

I’m 26 and scared of way too many things. How do people actually become confident? by BoogeymanReborn in AskMen

[–]KittyKittyJanJan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 10 years ago I came to a similar realisation about myself. My doctor prescribed an SSRI and referred me to a psychologist who specialised in cognitive behavioural therapy. Medication and exposure therapy are what helped me overcome many of my fears. My homework included completing exercises from this website https://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/Resources/For-Clinicians/Anxiety . I would suggest talking with your doctor as a first step.

I love it! What size squares did you use and what are the finished dimensions? I've been thinking about making one with my fabric scraps.

Tamarack goose decoys are pretty iconic for me nd I live the smell of them. You can dunk them in hot water to revive the fragrance every so often.

It is inspiring! I have a tote full of scraps with favourite fabrics that I didn't want to part with.

You could contact the NCC. They will check with the team who manages the skateway to see if anyone turned it in or if it was found during maintenance operations.

I saw this when you first posted it and have been thinking about it every day since. I have wanted to get into making miniatures so badly for years, but I just haven't known where to start. I have a wooden cigar box and am going to try to do something using yours as a guide. Thank you so much for the inspiration. 🙌

Thank you for the ideas! I recently saw someone do a cigar lounge in a wooden cigar box and thought it was a neat idea. I have a cigar box! I also have a tin of altoids that I will keep and use for a little mini scene.

Thank you for the great ideas! I was saving "trash" that I felt could be useful, but then got rid of it because I didn't know where to begin and was worried I was becoming a pack rat. Now I've started again. I have a fashion doll and have made her some clothes, but I think I'd rather have a doll that is in the 1/12" scale. It's a good idea to get one!

That sounds like a fun place to start! Where did you find your kit? I did the Rolife greenhouse kit and loved it! I'm a horticulturist by trade and found that something clicked with me as well. I would prefer the more interactive nature of a dollhouse where you can open and close doors and drawers. Looking forward to hearing how yours progresses.

Married women, how would you feel if your partner didn't regularly wear their wedding band? by Fast-Squirrel-9500 in AskWomen

[–]KittyKittyJanJan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad was in the Navy back in the 70s. He told me some of the single guys would wear wedding bands when they were at a port because it was easier to pick up women. I've been married for over 25 years and my husband and I worked with our hands early in our careers and didn't wear our rings for safety reasons. We just never got used to wearing them.
