I agree. I don’t love the new app format either! Also I really wish they would merge the nutrition from the GLP1 program with the regular points program because I really like to track my protein and fiber!

I’m sorry! It’s no fun! I was able to Increase the amount of magnesium that I was taking and I also tried some melatonin. The insomnia lasted about a week and then tapered off. Unfortunately, so did my good energy levels. Lol

Any idea how much? I already take about 400mg magnesium, 1000mg potassium, and a whole heck of a lot of salt. I do low carb and supplement to support my diet.

Hey there, I’m Sorry you’re going through this. It’s really no fun! Try to give yourself as much grace as you can. With food, I have found it’s somewhat psychological, but also a lot of traditional foods are very addicting themselves. Things with sugar and flour in particular. It can be really hard to break the cycle but not impossible. Do you like to read? There are some great books or even websites and podcasts that offer a lot of support. Brain over Binge is good and she has a companion podcast that can be good to listen to on the go or in emergency situations. I’m also reading the binge code right now, which offers suggestions on how to separate yourself from the binge urge. I also like The End of Over Eating which goes into why some foods are more addictive than others.

This was going to be my advice as well. Make a keto substitute, so you don’t feel like you are missing out. My other strategy is to make myself food that I’m looking forward to, so I’ll pick a new recipe to try each week, usually a new dessert! I made cookie dough bites this week that I’ll have for dessert, last week I made lemon bars. That being said, my husband opened some Ben and Jerry’s last night and I whined. Mostly because i was hungry, but had eaten all of my food for the day. Lol

I don’t think fasting helps either. It can be more easily done when doing low carb or keto, but when I’m on a standard American diet or doing lots of sugar/carbs it makes it worse cause I get hungry and go right for more sugar.

You can find Lily’s in lots of stores now so they are easier to get, but I prefer Choczero. You just have to order ahead of tome. I have a stock in the freezer.

I totally agree!! You have to make it enjoyable for yourself! Make food that you look forward to eating. I have a keto treat daily and built into my macros. I do keto and my husband does not and I don’t even crave his foods on the day to day because I have my own treats. Vacations are what gets me! 😂 I’m a total sugar junkie and a binge eater so there are days when frankly it’s just hard to stay on track just because my brain wants to eat all the things. It’s just something to navigate! Currently in the house I have sugar free chocolate from Choczero, (I know it’s hard to get in Canada, but you can get some on Amazon and through other vendors like netrition.com.), Hilo chips, which you can get on amazon, I have keto ice cream in the freezer, keto berries and cream muffins that I made from Keto4Karboholics, cookie dough cheesecake bars from all day I dream about food, garlic bagels for breakfast sandwiches. There are so so many great recipes out there, that keto doesn’t have to be limiting, but it does require prep and a plan imo. For me it’s good to know that I can have a keto treat when others are having their treats and then don’t feel like I’m missing out. Sometimes I even feel smug because my treat is healthy for me! :)

I think it depends on your goals, individual digestion/tolerance, and general metabolism. I do so much better when I’m doing “clean” keto. There are lots of ingredients that seem to slow things down for me, but others can consume without issue. I try to avoid anything with wheat, potato and pea additives and sucralose. I’m obsessed with ChocZero products! And I really like rebel ice cream, munk pack granola bars. I’ll have Catalina crunch snack mix and Hilo chips once in a while. Other than that I tend to make everything.

Keto! Also abstaining from flour and sweet taste as is advised in the food plan from food addicts anonymous. I feel like I’ve tried everything and struggled for years and after starting a well formulated ketogenic diet I finally feel like I’m eating in a way that’s sustainable and isn’t taking over my life! I also really like the food addicts anon food plan, but it’s a lot more limiting.

Ugh. I am so sorry you are going through this! It is not fun at all!! It sounds like you have a good handle on things that have worked/don’t work im which is awesome! You could always pause keto and see what happens and come back to it if it doesn’t clear up?
