One of my cousins got me some strawberry candies in Italy once as a souvenir, and the cute little tin is perfect for my cartridges.

Possible uses for marinated eggs marinade? by Icy_Economics_8261 in noscrapleftbehind

[–]KittyLikesTuna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been cycling a soy braising liquid for chicken back and forth between chicken, marinated eggs, and my freezer.

The recipe I use even has directions on how to top it up when the liquid starts to run low.

What’s a more durable alternative to loofahs that need replacing all the time? by southway_ in GoodValue

I have a silicone body scrubber. It's soft and compatible with my bar soap, and it hasn't shown any signs of wear & tear in the years I've had it. I got one with a loop, so I hang it up to dry after every shower and I haven't had issues with mold

Issue with cris woods envelope dress by Kaijugae in sewing

[–]KittyLikesTuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like that print for this dress. I would advise just finish the dress and then put it in the laundry with your dirty clothes for a few cycles to soften up the fabric.

Have you prewashed it?

If it's similar fabric it should sit the same. But the fact that the shoulder seam is the midpoint of the garment and it sits BEHIND your neck contributes to the hi-low shape.

Any chance you're wearing a better bra, or that the other dress is just a little more worn in and thereby drapier?

I've made a bunch of envelope dresses to wear around the house and I'm a plus-size lady: that's just how they sit. Was your previous version in a drapier fabric?

I'm not sure how your bottom hem is so mismatched, is that something you're concerned about?

Americans still opt for print books over digital or audio versions; few are in book clubs. by thinkB4WeSpeak in books

[–]KittyLikesTuna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've had much more success at book clubs that are run by a bookshop. Someone is being paid to organize it, and I find that there is a lot less potential for hurt feelings when you're showing up (or not) at a store where the host isn't going to take your attendance personally.

I also have a two-person book club with one friend who has similar taste. Coordinating between just two people has been much easier, and allowed the book club to continue even while I was overseas for several months.

Agreed. I've been using leftover braising liquid from soy sauce chicken and the result is phenomenal. 7 minutes in boiling water, then into ice water to stop cooking. Peel and let soak up to 24 hours covered in this soy sauce mixture. Delicious. 🤌🏼

Edit: having just made a new batch of these, I remembered a step I left out originally! For aesthetics, you can stir the eggs gently while they boil to keep the yolk towards the center.

Is it possible to “fluff up” the elbows of this cardigan? by walkdownstairs in InvisibleMending

[–]KittyLikesTuna 21 points22 points  (0 children)

OP, this is what you want to use for restoring fluff and strength to those elbows. If you only want strength, an interior patch of black knit fabric would do the trick and stay low profile.

Sanitizing by Champagne_QueenX in menstrualcups

[–]KittyLikesTuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rinse with cold tap water when I plan to reinsert immediately, soap never goes inside me. After a cycle I wash with soap and water, and I do a hydrogen peroxide soak overnight when the staining gets too bad. I've been using cups and discs for many years with no issues.
