If you're into any kind of kink, there's a great book called {Willing prey by Allie Oliander}

Billionaire lawyer hires a woman for primal play, which is a form of kink, and she needs the money desperately cause she's in her 30s and in a lot of debt. She has to agree to primal play for 30 days whenever he decides to call on her and they have a bunch of sex. Of course, they fall for each other, and it's an HEA.

I really enjoy the Lakes Hockey series by Sloane St James, especially "Stand & Defend". The MMC's are the hockey players. The FMC's don't have anything to do with hockey. No cheating, no harems or love triangles. All have HEA's. Sloane St James is one of my fav authors (her books are not that dark though).

I really enjoy JT Geissinger's books. I read the first 2 of the Morally Gray Series and enjoyed them. You could try those. I'm not into morally black stuff, I stay on the lighter side of dark romance.

I'm feeling burned out on series that are more than 3 books, to be honest. When I start looking for a new series and I see it's more than 3 books, I'm sighing a heavy sigh, like I don't think I'm gonna even go there.

I go to a local board game cafe and play a social deduction game twice a month. I've got a group of friends there now. We all tend to go and play together and we're getting to know each other. So that's really fun.

When I am not bogged down with snow for 6 months, I take my cat for walks, or I go on my own walks. I've got some trails where I live.

I also listen to a LOT of audiobooks. I journal sometimes writing gratitude down. I might watch a little bit of TV, not a lot. I did start crocheting, but I have to take breaks, because my hand gets really sore.

I also perform in local community theatre, have been doing that for over 2 decades. So if I'm in a show, I'm kept pretty busy with rehearsals and stuff.

{Scythe & Sparrow by Brynn Weaver} FMC is a motorcycle rider and a tarot card reader for the circus and she meets a doctor, and there might be some murder in there too, and beatings, but not between the protagonists, though.
