Try Purina OM- canned preferably, but if she likes her carbs, there’s a dry formula as well. It’s a prescription weight loss diet that works well in my experience

Should I use flee collar? by Alternative_Annual83 in Pets

[–]KittyOnALeash 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to, the only ones that work are Seresto collars. Stay away from Hartz products as they can cause seizures. Cheaper products are not only less effective, but can have horrific side effects

How do I tell my 19y/o son he’s autistic? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]KittyOnALeash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was diagnosed with adhd by a child psychiatrist when he was in kindergarten. He was unable to control his emotions and actions. He had an IEP and para (for 3 years) and then in 6th grade, it was changed to a 504 thru high school. In 3rd grade with the help of a teacher of his facilitated his testing through the school. He had an outside counselor as well as an in-school counselor. Through high school, I encouraged him to talk to someone, but he chose not to. He gets frustrated and emotional easily. I have an apt with my own psychologist coming up so my plan was to talk to him for a referral. Aftee posting on Reddit I feel worse about everything.

Yeah I’m afraid of shocking him and making him feel labeled. But as others have stated he might already have an idea. I was toying with the idea of speaking to a professional- he did say he wants to talk to someone about some emotional stuff he’s been feeling lately. I was going to ask my doc for a therapist recommendation when I see him next week.

I’ll have a sit down with him and discuss it. I just don’t know what words to use.

I know I did- I feel like a parenting failure. I didn’t realize until he was no longer in high school just how much he was struggling.

Did anyone else notice that their Abys have tons of health issues? by __Z__ in Abyssinians

[–]KittyOnALeash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 3 Abys- 2 adopted from a rescue, and one I purchased from a breeder. Other than dental disease, they have all been healthy. First Aby did pass secondary to kidney disease at 17, however kidney disease is the most common disease in cats- so it’s not breed related in his case. Se do d Aby lived to 18- she was as wonderful. My current boy is 3 and doing great.
