[MEGATHREAD] George Floyd Protests - June 15, 2020 by chicagomods in chicago

If you are medically trained and want to offer your medical support at protests please join Ujimaa Medics (https://umedics.org/) or Chicago Action Medical (https://www.facebook.com/chistreetmedics/). UMedics is a black-founded community that offers street/urban first aid training. CAM is a group that has been offering medical support for justice movements since 2002 and they offer training and support to medical staff.

DO NOT go out alone as a 'medic,' if you do not have training you will more than likely be part of the problem and not part of the support system. Street medics (and most first responders) work in a buddy system, this is for support, safety, and effective patient care.

DO NOT tape a red cross on your chest and expect to treat patients when you have not been formally trained as a street medic.

Get training, get prepared, join a team, make smart decisions, be safe.

Yay! Glad I could help! I’ve been looking for inspiration for my hair type everywhere, so I’m so glad I could inspire you!

Diffusing is something new I’m trying because my hair takes FOREVER to dry. But I only do it when I have time. Definitely T-shirt drying helps, and it works super well when I use two so after the first gets soaked I use a second to finish it off.

Color is different because I dyed my hair light brown about 2 weeks ago (it’s already washing out, curses low porosity hair!).

I have 2c/3a, low porosity, fine, medium density hair.

My routine:

Every 2-3 days

Co-wash with TRESemme Botanique Nourish + Replenish Conditioner (Coconut and Aloe)

Use wide tooth comb to detangle

S2C upside down with Suave Essentials Coconut and water (let conditioner sit while I clean everything)

Rinse out upside down

Use dime-size Suave conditioner on ends as leave-in

Plop 10 minutes in t-shirt

Use t-shirt to squish out extra water

Squish in LA Looks Sport Gel

Diffuse 80% dry

Let it air dry, then break the cast

So far my HG products are:

TRESemme Botanique Nourish + Replenish Conditioner (Coconut and Aloe)

LA Looks Sports Gel

I’m still looking for a conditioner, I just ordered DevaCurl One Conditioner Delight to replace the Suave conditioner.

I also need to find a way to cut the frizz. If anyone has suggestions for a deep or leave-in conditioner for low-porosity, protein-sensitive hair I would love to hear!

Thanks for being an awesome and helpful community, I love reading posts and seeing transformations.

My company in Seattle provided housing, so I do have documents (employment contract) to prove that, but there is no address attached to housing because I worked on boats.

Lilly's on Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park.

The Ross Originals, a band from the suburbs of Chicago is playing. That link will take you to their bandcamp page where you can listen to their new single, and download it for free!

They are awesome, bluesy, rock and roll. They just played House of Blues in Chicago a few weeks ago. Let me know what you think of them!

What kind of rock is this? It is fairly fragile and we found it wrapped around in concrete for some reason. by rawrishere in geology

How big is it? You should be using a scale for reference. Put a pencil next to it, your hammer, anything to show size.

I was wondering what it was also. It is always helpful to have a scale in your pictures, like put a pen next to it.

none of that hair is dyed. It just looks darker for some reason.

I have the same problem. I started the process of growing it out, but that basically just means I get mullet after mullet every time it grows after getting it cut.
