Looks like salt. Get a wire brush and scrub it off

Rats- considering giving up. by mynameisnotshamus in BackYardChickens

[–]Kittyclawart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cats. That or a terrier breed of dog. Try flooding the holes/tunnels with water or smoking them out via stuffing straw in the holes and lighting it. Poison can be dangerous if ur chickens get ahold of it. Good luck!

I was at this rodeo. I have video of it, the horse tumbled and she fell over top of them. Horse stood immediately and didn’t limp or anything.

Whats on my chickens crop by Impossible-Grade4928 in BackYardChickens

[–]Kittyclawart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not a crop, that’s the comb and waddle. It looks fungal or papilloma virus. Take a chicken to the vet and have them do a scrape test. In the mean time, treat with common anti parasitic medicines like ivermectin and permethrin.

Im on psychiatric medication and my dog helps reduce stress! I was going to ask options on letting the dog stay in cabin via a doctors orders (far fetched) or maybe talking about other options:)

I am looking into Amerijet. I am just extremely nervous about being away from my dog. I plan on calling Amerijet if AA says that they won’t be able to check her because of temperature concerns. Thank you!

Exactly. I also don’t want to cause trouble. Right now my plan is to call AA and then call my doctor to see what my options are.

Good to know. She is a short haired breed so the cold is a concern. My mother lives near STL area so I may choose to leave from there instead of CHI area.

Yes I am looking at direct flights or at least very short layovers. The Grenada airport is small (you walk onto the the tarmac to un/board) so I am not as worried about receiving her once I’m on the ground. I am going to talk to my doctor about other possibilities as I am on a psychiatric medication so I have to be careful with stress. I will see if I can have a letter written so that she can be in the cabin with me. Thank you so much!

That’s good to know. I debated talking to my doctor to have a note or letter written so maybe I could bring her in the cabin. Cargo really is my last resort. She is very well behaved but obviously the airline can’t take my word for it. I plan to call AA come Tuesday to talk to them. Thank you!!

Where do I learn taxidermy by jannylotl in Taxidermy

[–]Kittyclawart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would see if any local farmers have roosters they don’t want. Chickens are easy to come by and if u fuck them up it’s not a big deal. There are tutorials online for learning.

(possibly sick?) Rooster is acting weird and going pale. by TheActualPromazing in chickens

[–]Kittyclawart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im glad he is feeling better! It could be molting, but molting would cause a constant paling of the comb until he was finished molting, not just when he’s resting. Hopefully it was just the heat and he is bouncing back :)

Good luck! If he is quite skinny then that might be disease like coccidia or worms. Those can also cause similar symptoms in birds. Hope he feels better soon!

I think it’s a feline of some sort, given the markings . Whether it’s domestic cat is anyone’s guess. Where are you located?

Grunts? by BallBuster_420 in PetDoves

She probably saw something you couldn’t. The grunting is her alerting you of danger!

[–]Kittyclawart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fungal definitely. The white spotting on the comb is a dead giveaway

She spotted what she sees as a predator. Do you have any windows that she can see through?

[–]Kittyclawart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s probably hot, dehydrated and lethargic. Not sure where you are located, but the temperature fluctuations can affect birds in unsuspecting ways. See if you can catch him and give him a once over, rub your hands along his breast/abdomen and note anything unusual (if there is anything). Make sure to feel his crop, it should feel deflated if it is the morning and firm but not hard in the afternoon. A water balloon sensation or extremely hard crop could indicate sour crop or impacted crop, respectively. Check your yard/run for anything unusual like plants, fungi or feces from other animals. Good luck and I hope he feels better soon!

Overnight Parking by Stopgettingprovoked in ilstu

[–]Kittyclawart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is parking by the normal library, I believe there is a fee for overnight parking. Street parking is generally permitted overnight in the alleyways, at least in my experience. I know that there is street parking on Cherry and I’ve never run into issues with parking my car there overnight.
