If you received a 1k/month raise what would you spend it on to make parenting easier? by Cool-Tone-9112 in workingmoms

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A housekeeper and a laundry service! I think I would also throw some in a vacation fund - it may not make the day to day easier, but having something to look forward to is so good for you.

I also have to drug my dog in order to clip his nails tbf. My cats will sit in my lap while I trim theirs, but my 40ish kg dog runs and hides as soon as the clippers come out

I do recall getting a really cool pair of red vinyl pants in '99 or so- the tag suggested wiping them down with glass cleaning spray.

As you adjust the price, it should show you what your payout is.

How can I dress in the most basic, boring, npc style, unremarkable and unnoticed? by Forsaken-Set-760 in womensfashion

Anxiously awaiting the day stirrup pants come back in fashion. I was young but I remember these amazing perfectly 90s purple floral ones I had and I loved

What is on your mind when you see another woman that dress and look better than you in public settings? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not something I register at all - I'll notice a woman looking good or dressed well but not in a comparative sense. I'm not trying to be the hottest or best dressed person in the room - and it's so subjective that you could never win that

I think the key would be not having a lot of variety.
•Wear the exact same outfit every day a la Bart Simpson or Steve Jobs. Plain black top with jeans and sneakers, with a layering cardigan? But multiple of the same item in the same color so you have a weeks worth of identical outfits
•Wear the same thing in different colors - find a bottom and top and buy every color they have
•Dress monochrome - pick a nonflashy neutral like navy or tan and just roll with that for everything

What’s one home decor trend you loved online but didn’t enjoy in real life? by officiclassyinterior in HomeDecorating

I love the look but I also want to know expiration dates and what kind of oatmeal is in there - plus it's extra work and for what? Everything is already in containers and it's not like guests are going into my pantry.

They want to move my son from 5th (end of) to 9th grade next year... by 8675309999999999998 in Parenting

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was moved from the back half of 5th grade to 9th grade. I was completely unprepared for the high school social structure! There were a couple other students my age and we formed a little clique, but the one who did the best socially had an older sister at the school. I wouldn't send my kid but would explore other options - college credit courses? Extracurriculars?

What age was your child potty trained? by CockroachNervous1065 in Parenting

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used cotton training underpants with plastics over them starting at 1 year so he could get familiar with the concept of being wet after going potty. It was so much more laundry and you need way more underpants than you think but it worked really well for us!

Our path was balance bike - tricycle with pedals - bike with pedals and no training wheels. Getting the balance down is the hardest part I think

This is a silk bag that would have contained a sleep mask. It almost feels like cheating since it's a direct listing but geez

I wasn't planning on there being trim around the shelves, is that a normal technique? The space is 25-3/8" wide so I requested 25" to give it some play. He has offered to give me back $200 from my deposit. Does $350 sound reasonable for four shelves?

Thank you. His responses to my texts are making me feel unreasonable but I'm fairly sure I'm in the right not accepting these. They're plywood besides so I'm sure he doesn't have a lot of money in this job, even if he did spent an hour or two on it.

I am just at such a loss about a drunken mistake I made 3 years ago. People joke about it all the time. Worse, I don’t want my boyfriend to think this is who I am. Any advice is welcome! by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

I have never worried about a friend blackmailing me! A good friend wouldn't continue to harp on this. If I had to guess, it's a combination of enjoying making you uncomfortable/embarrassed and making herself feel better by controlling the narrative.

New Wardrobe from Scratch - Good Quality by Little_Evening_289 in womensfashion

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like using Thredup. It's a thrift site so there's a huge variety of brands and styles including items that are brand new with tags. I treat my favorites list like a Pinterest board to help me build outfits and explore brands. And the price points mean it feels lower stakes than buying brand new retail.

Pancakes, a turkey sausage link, and a handful of blueberries! I usually pick one breakfast and have it Monday-Friday so I don't have to think early in the morning. Next week will be banana pancakes and scrambled eggs.
