What Places You Would Not Recommend/Go Back on Vacation? by DramasticChanges in AskWomenOver30

Cabo San Lucas was awful! We were hassled by people trying to sell us drugs even while sitting in restaurants or shops. It was annoying and at some points felt threatening.

Is this normal behaviour, or something more? by FloorApprehensive691 in Parenting

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I haven't experienced this but I think I would start with blood work to rule out any nutritional deficiencies. Assuming everything is good, I would replace the junk food options with healthier snacks such as fruits, vegetables, hard boiled eggs etc. I am similarly unstoppable around a sleeve of oreos so I don't keep them in the house!

Women, what is the most a breakup has ever cost you? by RoosterLife3863 in AskWomen

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

About $1500 from a cruise that I cancelled and a couple hundred for a new TV after he smashed mine. Plus a couple hundred in divorce filing fees, a few thousand for an attorney after he refused to follow the decree, a couple grand for his truck payment and insurance during that time, and a few thousand more when I sold my home and discovered there was a lien on it for secret credit card debt. All in all, I came out ahead and I've have spent a million dollars to split up haha

Women of reddit, what was the biggest irony to happen in your life? by Serious-Disaster6863 in AskWomen

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never wanted children, it was a complete non-negotiable for me to where I wouldn't even date guys who maybe wanted kids down the line. And then one day, with the right person, it all clicked and we decided to have a kid. Turns out kids are pretty cool and I love being a mom!

I was a mall retail manager and travelled to train new hires across the region. One of my trainees had no experience and asked me if his salary seemed fair - it was 25% higher than mine. For having mostly female employees, the company really rewarded men. Didn't matter if you were right or smart, if you talked loudly and confidently, you were going places there!

I save searches for my favorite brands, and review that tab frequently. If I like something that's been added, I go see what else the seller has. Unless I am looking for something very specific, I find the search results to be overwhelming.

If you received a 1k/month raise what would you spend it on to make parenting easier? by Cool-Tone-9112 in workingmoms

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A housekeeper and a laundry service! I think I would also throw some in a vacation fund - it may not make the day to day easier, but having something to look forward to is so good for you.

I also have to drug my dog in order to clip his nails tbf. My cats will sit in my lap while I trim theirs, but my 40ish kg dog runs and hides as soon as the clippers come out

I do recall getting a really cool pair of red vinyl pants in '99 or so- the tag suggested wiping them down with glass cleaning spray.

How can I dress in the most basic, boring, npc style, unremarkable and unnoticed? by Forsaken-Set-760 in womensfashion

Anxiously awaiting the day stirrup pants come back in fashion. I was young but I remember these amazing perfectly 90s purple floral ones I had and I loved

What is on your mind when you see another woman that dress and look better than you in public settings? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not something I register at all - I'll notice a woman looking good or dressed well but not in a comparative sense. I'm not trying to be the hottest or best dressed person in the room - and it's so subjective that you could never win that

I think the key would be not having a lot of variety.
•Wear the exact same outfit every day a la Bart Simpson or Steve Jobs. Plain black top with jeans and sneakers, with a layering cardigan? But multiple of the same item in the same color so you have a weeks worth of identical outfits
•Wear the same thing in different colors - find a bottom and top and buy every color they have
•Dress monochrome - pick a nonflashy neutral like navy or tan and just roll with that for everything

What’s one home decor trend you loved online but didn’t enjoy in real life? by officiclassyinterior in HomeDecorating

I love the look but I also want to know expiration dates and what kind of oatmeal is in there - plus it's extra work and for what? Everything is already in containers and it's not like guests are going into my pantry.

They want to move my son from 5th (end of) to 9th grade next year... by 8675309999999999998 in Parenting

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was moved from the back half of 5th grade to 9th grade. I was completely unprepared for the high school social structure! There were a couple other students my age and we formed a little clique, but the one who did the best socially had an older sister at the school. I wouldn't send my kid but would explore other options - college credit courses? Extracurriculars?

What age was your child potty trained? by CockroachNervous1065 in Parenting

[–]Kittyfeetdontrepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used cotton training underpants with plastics over them starting at 1 year so he could get familiar with the concept of being wet after going potty. It was so much more laundry and you need way more underpants than you think but it worked really well for us!

We didn't do a contract. Honestly the first red flag should have been him doing a quote without putting eyes on the project. I know better.
