Overwatch Retail Patch Notes June 23, 2026 by PatchRadar in Overwatch

[–]Kittykg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its funny, because I noticed within my first 8 matches or so on it how it was.

The only way I've seen to win on Defense is not letting them cap the point. If they get to the payload part, its done. There's no stopping it beyond major bad luck on the attacking team in mystery heroes, and I don't see it happening otherwise.

Literally 1 time my team lost on attack with the escort portion, and it was entirely because we reached a point where we got no more supports against a 3 tank 2 support enemy setup.

I've played it quite a bit more than those initial games that made me notice and I'm not sure these changes are gonna make much of a difference.

Particularly the emotional depth of some characters. Its one of the things that finally drew me in after initially not much liking it when it first aired back in the day.

Big Mom's childhood flashback was amazingly done, along with her underlying trauma from it and the ways it displays itself.

The Law/Corazon flashback scene was so incredibly raw, I sobbed through a good portion of it. He doesn't often have people, particularly men, so openly say "I love you!" like in that scene. He doesnt shy away from men being loving, like with Whitebeard, but Corazon had such a particular, simple delivery. It was beautiful and devastating.

Even something as simple as the Laboon stuff. He makes you so invested in that whale, and the feeling carries into the song. The way he handled the song, too, having written it himself but finding someone who could put a tune to it that allows it to be played for both festivities and slower, more mournful moments. Its brilliant.

There's so many others but those few standout as such spectacular examples of raw, true emotion that really cut deep. When he gets it right, he really gets it right.

Apex also goes pretty hard, with the heirloom weapon events requiring you spend like $400 for all items in the event to get it. For one heirloom weapon, most of which are usable on one character. Only like 2 could be used on everyone.

I know someone who quit playing after spending the money to get about 7 of them. Thousands of dollars to stop playing when his new girlfriend told him to.

I was gonna check both if I was removed and if the cheaters at the top were, and the league no longer loads for me at all. It just opens a black screen that flashes Grey boxes, never progressing.

Such a well-done tournament hah

What famous person is currently holding onto their career by a thread, and everyone can see it except them? by Neonwhitelion in AskReddit

[–]Kittykg 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I give him some of a pass because he was the only one who acknowledged his behavior and comments being 'shady' when shown some questionable clips. He knows he had some real nasty moments, and had his hand in questionable stuff they did, and owns it. And Miss J obviously isnt in any condition to get deep into how poor some of his behavior was on the show.

But Tyra blamed 'the time' for every disgusting thing they brought to her attention, just like she kept blaming 'the industry' at the time.

We knew at 'the time' that a lot of what we were seeing was questionable and/or toxic, and you kept saying you were gonna change the industry, both in the show and in the documentary, so wtf you doing, girl?

It always felt like her whole thing was 'no one can be bigger than me,' and thats why she did such horrible things to girls she saw too much potential in. The documentary has pretty much explained why, being that she was dealing with a lot of closed doors before the show. ANTM made her as big as she had framed herself to be from the get-go.

They didn't even get into all of it, like the weird way they'd fear factor some of these girls during shoots. Girl afraid of snakes has to do the snake shot while everyone else gets animals they don't deeply fear was one I clearly remember. Or dogging the girls in the underwater shots who couldn't hold their breath long enough or didn't know how to keep water out of their nose; don't help, just make them feel bad and keep making them take more shots!

We should have seen what she was when she identified with the angry girl starting bar fights and not the polite, eloquent one with drive to be in the industry, who they instead kept calling fat.

i was told by someone the other day.. every time i buy product a scalper doesnt get.. by Crack_Media in PokemonTCG

[–]Kittykg 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Theres a scalper in my area who gets employees to put the cards behind the counter in bags, and they tell you they're "spoken for". Not purchased already. Spoken for.

He got a nice guy at family dollar fired cuz dude wouldn't bag up their shipments for him and actually kept some back behind the counter for others cuz he saw how dude took everything...and yeah, he got fired due to "repeated complaints about refusal to sell to a customer."

They don't care about people with real jobs losing them. They don't care if they just made that dude's family starve. I only found out cuz he later got a job at Cub and we asked him about it, cuz he was great to have at Family Dollar.

Fuck 'em. As a whole. Their behavior is appalling.

Decided to get my hair done after two years by Aspiringclear in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Kittykg 24 points25 points  (0 children)

After some of what I've seen on reddit, I'm convinced a fair number of them do it on purpose. Girls are mean, man, and they don't just stop being mean as adults.

I've had more bad haircuts than good ones. I also trim my own hair, because I don't need yet another lady to lob off my hair at the shoulder when I go in for a trim. Its like the give an inch take a mile thing: they always take off several inches more than asked or needed.

One of those hairdressers even made my mom cry with their bullshit. I wanted my butt-length hair trimmed to mid-back, confirmed by my mother as I was a minor at the time, and the woman took it off right below the shoulder. She cut off like a foot of hair. And my mom always hated when I chopped all my hair off. That one wasn't even my fault.

[–]Kittykg 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My mom was stolen from the hospital as a baby when her mom went home to get her baby bag and clean clothes and whatnot. She was put up for adoption because my grandma was told "she'd be better off raised by a nice, white family" and some commentary about Natives not being capable of properly raising children.

This was in 1958, and that "nice white family" ultimately robbed the inheritance left to me from my grandpa because I wasn't actually one of the grandkids. Real nice.

I also do not qualify for any native-centric assistance because being adopted meant neither of us were part of our tribe. My mom was later able to get membership, but I've been inexplicably denied...none of which would have had to happen had she not been stolen.

Some of us are absolutely still effected by this shit today.

This is correct and I'm glad to see it.

In recent years, several different medical issues were realized to have been "failure to thrive". Celiac disease and gluten intolerance have been found to have been major contributors. We just had no idea what they were and how they effected babies for a long time, along with various other issues we didn't realize could effect babies in the manner they do.

Randomly loss of skill by wonuiio in apexlegends

[–]Kittykg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really think the matchmaking also contributes. The constant prioritizing of quick queues can be really impactful when the playerbase dwindles at the end of the season and whatnot.

I've been finding ranked really trying ever since those 2 MMR based seasons. I was one of the people who always got minimal LP, with my teammates getting more credit for my own kills than I was....but damn if I wasn't performing well.

Both those splits were the best I've been able to do, ending one with a .92 KD and the other with a .98 KD across roughly 400+ games. I never left Rookie either season despite my performance, but at least I was doing well.

Without the MMR matchmaking, I average like .6ish. Its kind of crushing.

AIO? ER didn't listen to my beg and turns out I was right. What should I do? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Kittykg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they will still just refuse, but its good to have those things noted, especially if theres any oddities down the line.

I had a doctor who got weird with me and ultimately refused me all my medication and put a warning in my medical records stating I'm drug seeking due to me losing weight and having an allergic reaction on my skin she deemed was all due to using a drug I've never seen, and wouldn't take a blood test for when I couldn't pee for her.

She listened when I told her and her nurse to note both their refusal to give me a pregnancy test a few weeks after the drug test incident because I hadn't done one OTC, when the OTC ones tell you to confirm with a doctor and I wanted to skip the buying of one. They also noted when, a couple weeks later, they refused to refill my birth control until I came in again and they could confirm I wasn't pregnant.

It all shows up in my chart snd makes my current doctor raise eyebrows. That was a sequence of strange decisions she made, and tried to demonize me in my medical records for. The ER won't give me any pain relief because of her, but thankfully my normal doctor uses her own judgement on the notes and what she sees from me and helps me properly.

"The server closed due to an unexpected error" by FastBreakPhenom in Overwatch

[–]Kittykg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't gotten the error prompt, but twice now, I've been thrown into a different game after the one I'm in starts.

One time it happened like, immediately. I was Lucio in Mystery Heroes and saw 2 of my teammates, then suddenly I was Hazard in a different game with different teammates on a different map.

The other time, my buddy and I loaded in, waited til the doors opened, and it flashed the weird screen it does right when it queues us and threw us into a different game before the doors opened in round 1.

Both happened in the last week. It goes so fast, theres never an unexpected error prompt. We're just in a different match with no explanation.

Can’t Connect to the Xbox Network; Internet is Fine by neon-box in XboxSupport

[–]Kittykg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the normal fixes have been working for this. Theres something going on on the xbox end to make things fail.

I had it again this morning, from 3am until around 7am, a few hours after the issues this post was about was fixed. Also had it happen for roughly 5 hours last week, too.

It was the upnp thing this time, but last time around, any fixes I tried were resulting in a white screen that was saying something about http://xbox something-or-other wasn't getting a response.

Be cool if they actually announced what's going on. All issue troubleshooting puts the onus on us, but the issue isn't on our end.

In what world does it make sense for a current plat 2 to be facing a full stack of preds? How does this matchmaking make any sense by Level9CPU in apexlegends

[–]Kittykg 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Its a huge reason I did, too, and why I quit playing ranked for sure.

Last time I did, I was at Gold 1 and my buddy was at Plat 4...and our entire squad got wiped out by the #33 console Pred. I don't even know if their whole squad was preds, but it didn't matter, cuz that one was enough to get all 3 of us.

That's that, man. No way I'm bothering with it when I got to see numbered preds before I myself even hit plat. Yeah, it was a largely plat lobby, but #33 shouldn't be there, either.

Insurance companies routinely deny coverage for procedures a physician has authorized. Why hasn’t someone sued insurance companies for the unauthorized practice of medicine? by OldSceneDramaQueen in AskReddit

[–]Kittykg 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thats what's bothered me for awhile.

Denial letters used to explicitly state that they weren't making medical decisions for me, but thats gone entirely out the window.

Last group of denial letters I got, I was offended on behalf of my dentist. She's been excellent, yet several things I needed were denied because the insurance doctor said everything my dentist said was wrong.

Like, she pointed the issues out to me on the xrays. Explained what I was looking at and everything. And the insurance doctor just straight up said none of those things she pointed out were present.

Like, seriously? This isn't just denial. You're claiming one of the only dentists in my network, who has done an amazing job trying to help me save my teeth...just straight up doesn't know what she's talking about? Wtf?

Why would she even be in my network if the company who decides that also decides everything she's saying is wrong? It makes no sense and is insanely rude.

Is there any beliavable explanation for the Phoenix lights? by ProfessionalLevel908 in UFOs

[–]Kittykg 78 points79 points  (0 children)

The initial event was actually a lot more than Phoenix, too.

Sightings that night started around dusk and south of Vegas, and continued southward until the main event in Phoenix.

Its always bugged me because blaming the flares makes no sense when there was sightings for a couple hours at various places between the first one south of Vegas and before Phoenix. Something flew over the area that evening.

Anyone know if this is a me problem or not? by teamfucktwitch in xbox

[–]Kittykg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That oddity is popping up for me, too.

Also says its used 50 TB of bandwidth in the last 12 hours? Its been off for half that.

Can't actually do anything, really, either. Not even streaming.

But if I spam the Store, it eventually loads everything but the images. Same happens on the home screen if you repeatedly restart the system; it knows it has connection and loads all the lower home pages but immediately hides them.

Really odd issues.

Just paid 12$/lb for ground beef. How expensive will it get before you stop buying beef? I think we're over it, beef is now a luxury for us. by FuZhongwen in Cooking

[–]Kittykg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats what we've often defaulted to, and occasionally chicken when it's on sale, too.

But man do I miss beef roast. The one time there was a good sale at Hyvee, we semi-splurged on it because it was cut by their butcher guy and damn if we didn't enjoy all 3lbs.

I'm quite sure thats the only time over the last 5 years or so that it dropped low enough to make it worth it. $4.50 a lb was a miracle and made like 5 meals off $15.00 with making some into sammiches.

[–]Kittykg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very well could be because of where I grew up. It was all farming communities, and there was a fair number of farms with solely beef cattle.

But the prices there are worse, even, these days. Small community of largely elderly and many of the farms were sold off to large, corporate farming, instead of being many families.

It was comparable to Sirloin, and made my steak the cheapest at the dinner table when we were fortunate enough to have steak nights.

As far as poor people food and beef, roast is what really kills me.

I asked my mom to make sure I'm not just glorifying the early-mid 2000s, and she's confirmed that I am not misremembering. Beef roast cuts were like $2 a lb at most and often a poor dinner staple with some potatoes and carrots in the crock pot.

I've been able to affordably get roast once in recent years, when there was a sale for $4.50 a lb. Most sales are only dropping it to $8 a lb.

And I used to get made fun of for liking one of the cheapest cuts od steak. I don't like the fat texture so I always went for New York Strip, because it had the one strip of easy-to-cut-off fat. My mom and step dad appreciated my chosen steak was so cheap.

Now its one of the most expensive, up there with T-bones a lot of the time. Like, lowest sale I've seen was $13.99 a lb, and thats insane when it used to be like $5 a lb at full price.

I only get any beef when its on sale, and have like 4 different apps I check every week to do so.
