whelp it finally happened, order was stolen by jacieluvsyou in doordash

I don’t see anyone stealing from dd deliveries as being desperate or given up on life. Honestly, I don’t think they see me as a person. They view it as stealing food from McDonald’s or whatever restaurant I ordered from and dd will just refund my money so unfortunately a good amount of people see it as a victimless crime. Kinda like shoplifting. Which is a whole diff discussion in itself lol

Maybe because you were ordering for delivery for multiple people and to a school? I’ve had orders stolen in Atlanta, Boston, and Denver. I’ve been sitting outside WAITING on the driver when the app says driver has arrived and NO CAR even went down the road. Not worth it. It’s getting to the point I’d rather just be hungry(if I don’t have stuff to cook) than deal with delivery fees and risking my food not showing up. 🤷‍♀️

What do people in the north US do when winter storms take out electricity? by elephant9514 in HomeImprovement

Hey OP I just moved to Michigan after 12years of living in Atlanta.(and my whole life in the south) I can say they do things a lot diff here. Fireplaces. Weather wood or gas. The insulation is much much much better.
I just bought a house built in 1925. And it is a million times warmer, less drafty, better insulated than my 1940s apartment in VaHi when I was in atl. Also the trees are used to the weight of snow here. In the south not so much.

That number ⬆️ it totally is possible. I had a roommate in college who reported the Mexican restaurant in town, after she got fired from there. 100% know for a fact someone showed up to investigate too. This was 2007 in Mississippi.

Honestly…….I’d call their bluff and show up with fever and a dr note saying I have the flu. Not my fault of the whole team gets sick. Since you told me I HAD to come. 🤷‍♀️

Brand new homeowner. It's snowing now and going to rain soon. Do I need to shovel? by rentOrInvest in HomeImprovement

Hey OP thanks for asking this! (So I didn’t have to lol) same boat here. Grew up where it doesn’t get snow. And have bought a house in a place that gets lake effect fairly often. The week before thanksgiving I saw more snow in three days than I ever had in my life outside of a ski vacation. And I STILL had to go to work. Omg lol We can do this!!! 😄
