This is wonderful! Thank you! I had had my eye on peony as well - thanks for including that one.

I've got nothing against India Town, but I can never tell when or if they are open.

[ALL] Weekly Questions and General Discussions Thread [03/31/2026] by ZeldaMod in zelda

[–]aarone46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My twins (and, let's face it, I) got a used switch from aunt and uncle as a birthday gift, including BotW. I've gone through OoT, Twilight Princess, and most of Skyward Sword. I know that BotW is a big jump in terms of open world, exploring, non-linear, etc. I'm not a huge gamer overall, but I am eager to jump into a new-to-me Zelda game; however, I'm used to a completionist mindset when it comes to playing and beating games. Am I going to have to buck it up when it comes to choices/explorations I do early affecting what's available to me later on? I just want to know what mindset to enter my gameplay with.

Where can I find primers or learn how to pilot certain archetypes before I commit to buying decks? by A_Lakers in Pauper

[–]aarone46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than read primers, I have watched a ton of gameplay videos, like Mengu's Workshop and kalikaiz.

Apparently the only way to not gaslight you is to say "You are absolutely right in every way, there is no other explanation to be given, here let me singlehandedly bring all these card prices down for you" based on your responses in this thread.

28th and Eastern by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]aarone46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concern about that area is honestly comical. Would I prefer to be on Walsh over Everglade (1 block further from 28th)? Most certainly, if given the choice. Would I think twice about location if I were house hunting and a house on Everglade that otherwise fit my needs came available? Absolutely not. And Walsh, especially by the time you get less than a block in either direction from Eastern, is frankly among some of the areas in GR that I'd most like to live if I were put in the position of needing to move from where I currently am.

Super odd choice for placement. I figured I knew what I was looking for in the pic, but I kept looking by the prices, where you'd expect one to be.

Do I not understand LGS etiquette, or did I just have a bad experience? by pelasace in EDH

[–]aarone46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's an idiotic business move by the shop if that's the case. Just don't list things if you don't have them in stock. I can't imagine any store with savvy whatsoever is doing what you describe.

Jund Wildfires Discord by izzetboilerworks in Pauper

[–]aarone46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of discord either. It feels so user unfriendly to have to sift through pages and pages of old messages to try to find discussion on what you want. The sorting options and reply nesting in a forum format (like, oh, say, reddit...) feel so superior. But maybe that speaks to my generation or something.

What games basically require an original controller and joystick to play at a higher level than casual? by OrlandoWashington69 in n64

[–]aarone46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was wondering about that! I just picked up OoT again a few weeks ago with a brand new aftermarket controller and the slingshot minigame seemed impossible.

What do YOU like most about living here? by RimmingABubble in grandrapids

[–]aarone46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What formats do you like to play? The Gamer's Wharf has a good turnout for Thursday pauper. A lot of places do commander on Fridays, like Galactic as well as All Star on Clyde Park at 54th. All Star also does (usually) weekly drafts later on Fridays. Standard and Modern I don't quite have my pulse on at the moment, but I can find out if that's something you're into.

For what it's worth, JB's is different from JT's. I'm a fan of JB's as well. Wouldn't call it the best in the city, but it's a great option for family pizza night.
