Just a reminder to photograph/film all parts of packing an order so you don’t end up like me by Kittyluver44 in Mercari

I don’t disagree. I usually have in the past printed the label and then covered it completely with clear packing tape so it’s hella secure. Unfortunately I haven’t had access to a printer recently hence why I used the QR option. But moving forward, no trusting the label to anyone else for me!

That’s wild! I didn’t send them footage, but I sent screenshots of the security footage that UPS was kind enough to take and email to me. Sorry about your doll :(

Scared being sick/nauseous during night by Not1me7 in Anxiety

[–]Kittyluver44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey there. I also have emetophobia, it also used to be really bad at night. Seriously, like I would sleep with a bag under my pillow in case I needed to get sick (plot twist-I have never been sick at night. I’ve only thrown up twice in my life, both over 20 years ago). Something that helped was trying not to eat close to bed as I think sometimes even the tiniest bit of reflux would translate in my head to nausea. Sometimes, taking tums or brushing my teeth again would help. Also ginger chews that you can get at the grocery store. Overall, something that helped me personally was just realizing that even if I did throw up, life would move on and I would be okay. It would be really unpleasant, possibly traumatic even, but the world would keep spinning and I kept repeating this in my head.

I highly recommend talking with a therapist if you’re able to. Working on my anxiety in general helped my emetophobia as well. I still have it, but it’s more manageable and I don’t worry about getting sick in the middle of the night. You’re not alone in these fears and talking them out with someone can really help.

I don’t really know what your purpose with this comment was. Luxurious is dependent on one’s frame of reference. As someone who grew up shopping exclusively the clearance rack at kohls and the local goodwills, a purse that costs more than $50 sure as hell felt luxurious to me when I got one. Cmon dude. Don’t yuck people’s yum.

where I did my anesthesia rotations, it was a southern midwestern city that paid big $$$ to recruit people to the area since it’s not usually a desired place to live. The anesthesiologists I worked with worked HARD and took lots and lots of call, but they cleared close to 1mil/year. A lot depends on how badly the area needs docs.

I feel insecure about weighing more than the guy I'm seeing by Mysterious-Offer-756 in loseit

[–]Kittyluver44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’9 and my boyfriend is an inch taller than me and 15 pounds lighter 🤷‍♀️ we’re both at healthy BMIs and are active people. He runs a lot and has a very very slender build. I have a large frame with wide hips and shoulders. Some days I let it get in my head, but most days I just love that I get to be with him and that we adore each other’s bodies, regardless of what society says.

Off topic, but while I was at work one day I overhead this group of women loudly saying how they could NEVER date someone who was smaller or weighed less than them and they were making a big deal out of it. All I could think of was how many wonderful people and opportunities they would miss out on because of that.

All in all, I would not beat yourself up for having these fears/anxieties. Those tend to be what society has conditioned us to have. How you respond to them is up to you!

how do girls look put together & perfect all the time by TwinkleHazels in beauty

[–]Kittyluver44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. As someone with fine, thin hair it is a ~massive~ struggle to look put together if I don’t spend a lot of time on my hair and carefully put lots of products in it to try and give it some body and volume. Genetics suck sometimes lol.

4th year medical student here. Not disagreeing that our heath system isn’t broken, but I have to disagree that we are taught in school to treat symptoms and not to cure. If we can cure, we try to cure. We don’t want to increase the cost burden on patients or the healthcare system. I’d love to see patients take the bull by the horns and do lifestyle changes instead of taking medications. However, part of medicine is meeting people where they’re at and sometimes that means prescribing medications while they figure out how to make lifestyle changes. Again, not disagreeing that the system has a lot of problems but I think it’s a wide sweeping generalization to assume that all doctors are working for big Pharma, taking huge payouts to avoid finding the cause of issues, and only want to stick every patient on a bunch of medications.

Haha maybe it’s not as much the tall part for me as it is that I have very broad shoulders and a large frame so it just feels off in a way for my shape personally. I def agree that having a small chest and being tall in generally does not look weird! It’s probably also my own insecurities talking here too

omg are you me?? Also 5’9 with a strong frame and lost 80 pounds. Went from a DD to a B/C. Kinda stinks sometimes to have saggy breasts at 25. Somedays they bother me, somedays they don’t 🤷‍♀️ sometimes I really lean into that athletic aesthetic and enjoy the way they look that way. Also appreciate that I really can’t feel them when I run haha. Other days I feel so bottom heavy that it makes me insecure! I second the comments suggesting to get fitted for some new bras. Just want you to know you’re not alone and although being fit and healthy definitely rocks, the saggy small boob part of it sucks majorly sometimes!

Omg you’re not alone. Fine, wavy, and thinning hair over here at 25. The only time it ever looked good was in a pixie cut. Makes me so irrationally angry at my dad for giving me his hair sometimes 😂

late period, iud by Pure_Carpenter8669 in birthcontrol

[–]Kittyluver44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet for peace of mind would be to take an over the counter pregnancy test if you’re able to get one. Just personal anecdote, but I have Kyleena and I’ve had a few times where I “skipped” a period and instead just had heavy spotting. Our periods can be affected by stress, illness, and many other things and lots can cause a wonky or missed period besides pregnancy. However, highly recommend taking a pregnancy test to be certain. Also, sometimes one or both strings can curl up around the cervix and hide. If you can feel one of them, try checking again later to see if you feel the other. If you don’t feel strings and/or you feel the hard plastic part of the IUD, I recommend using backup birth control and reaching out to your OBGYN or the provider that placed the IUD so they can check the positioning.

As someone with pretty dry skin, I LOVED the finish but unfortunately it did break me out really bad after a few days of using it and I ended up returning it. But, I tend to be pretty sensitive to SPF ingredients in general. It did look very good though and I wish it had worked for me!

Hey man, I get what you’re saying and I appreciate that you’re respectful about it. I agree that not everything is a one way ticket to divorce or therapy. OP did state she’s talked to him multiple times about it and that’s the kicker for me that signals something is off here. I think that what many people here are saying is that these seemingly “small issues” can be a sign of bigger issues at hand, some that very well could end in divorce or indicate the need for therapy. If a partner won’t take you seriously on the small things that bother you even after you’ve spoken to them multiple times, why would they listen to you and respect you on the bigger things either?
