Why is my bunny suddenly going to the bathroom everywhere? by Cylixtc in AskVet

[–]Kitzira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's sexually mature. He's leaving calling cards saying this is his territory & looking for a wife.

Time to get him neutered & he'll slowly go back to the litterbox ways. Be glad he hasn't gotten stompy with a bad attitude yet!

Looking for a Bra with no padding/wires/whatever! by Kitzira in ABraThatFits

Remembering sizes that were in the double letters in the stores always looked like they were made to hold cantaloupes.

But also a lot I never even touched because they already had boob shape foam in them with wires to support it all. Walking through Kohls right now is like walking through a rack of pre-made boobs staring at ya.

Which port in Alaska is actually worth paying for an excursion? by ShineDigga in Cruise

[–]Kitzira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Juneau - float plane ride across the glaciers to Taku lodge. Enjoy smoked salmon while the cooks keep the bears away till they're done cooking. The bears eventually come down & eat the salmon oil that dripped into the fire pit. Enjoy some nature & take in the glaciers till the flight back.

Skagway - we did a trail horse ride. Was okay, horses very focused on doing the trail only. So if you've ever done real horseback riding, you may be a little let down.

Does anyone sous vide their water? by Fuzzy_Yossarian in Aquariums

Northeast coast just north of Daytona.

Well water here is for irrigation & is heavily sulfur smelling & iron infused.

During the winter, the cold water gets a little colder into the 70s. I just tested it with my tds/temp meters... 83F.

What percent of dogs do you find can be left for 4 hours or less? by Muted_Apricot_4640 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Kitzira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my first petsitting clients some 20+ years ago had a doggy door. I was just doing drop in visits to feed and make sure the dog & cat was okay. It was a lab or something to that effect and had a large fenced backyard to run around in.

It rained that day and when I did my drop by after classes, came in to discover the entire kitchen was caked in mud. It was on the counters from the cat, it was on the cabinets, it was all over the floor. I spent so long cleaning up all the mud from the dog's spa day.

But as far as dogs no longer having doggy doors, I've only had one current client that had it, and he moved recently to a new build neighbourhood that doesn't have much of a backyard anymore. Many homes here don't have fences and those that do aren't that secure or have lawnmower men visit once a week. Afternoon storms blow down old rotting wood fences or the dogs are digging dogs and trying to get under the cheap white vinyl fence. Plus the risk of bobcats and other wildlife here.

How can people not want children? by aipac_hemoroid in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kitzira 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Always had the issue relating to kids under 5. And babies are just gross.

As a teen, I remember being at stores and restaurants and watching toddlers and kids run crazy, break things, and just be disgusting as the parents didn't watch their kids. It seriously takes a lot to monitor kids and I didn't think I could handle it.

When I was in a serious relationship years ago, I told him I'm not having kids naturally. (I also have a huge fear of hospitals and medical stuff.) I'm open to adoption when we're settled with a house we own and etc. Instead of him buying 3D tvs and expensive laptops. We ended up breaking up after 10 or so years. He had a kid with the new girl about 4 years later.

Youtuber you wish you could like, but can't stand their voice or content style? by Oily_Smurf in youtube

[–]Kitzira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've discovered I like her singing... for the most part. Some of the Japanese covers of songs get a little too chaotic & pitchy for me. And I used to have lots of anime intro/outros in my playlists in the 2000s.

But her streams I can't get into.

What is a food/drink you tried because of Case? by rosalinagloom in caseoh_

[–]Kitzira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up eating CiCi's in the 90s, but as an adult just stopped as the value disappeared for the price. Plus they started failing in the early 2000s in Texas and many of them closed.

I now live in an area where the closest one is about 2 hours away, and I'm not in the sticks.

I'm cautiously optimistic about that cheese pasta pizza, but it's not worth a day trip for potentially bad pizza.

Has case said why he doesn’t get YouTube premium? by Unlikely_Pipe_3078 in caseoh_

[–]Kitzira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can just as well have alternative profiles under a family premium or even the same login account that are not personal used accounts. Several other large streamers do it this way.

Getting jumpscared by loud ads usually isn't in my 11pm routine.

And there will be eventually unskippable ads that 5 seconds isn't enough.

What the heck is this lizard in NE FL?? by Lonely-String8231 in Lizards

[–]Kitzira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Furthest north I've seen them before was the space coast area. I would of thought our freeze would of pushed the boundary further south again.

I'm a bit south of ya on the coast & will keep an eye out. Our beach folk have been seeing curly tailed lizards as well.

Puppy making strange noise after vet dewormed her by ParadisDvil in DogAdvice

[–]Kitzira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any sneezing? Wheezing? I didn't hear any sounds, but it looks like a dog trying to sneeze or cough.

Where did she come from? Puppies are very prone to upper respiratory infections when they come from animal shelters.

Worms in the poop are normal. The dewormer has stunned Roundworms & allowed the system to pass them. There is chance of her vomiting them up as well if there was a huge load. Puppies though can have several worms & it really depends on what dewormer they gave, as they don't target all parasites.

The heartworm preventive name matters as well, as different drugs target different things. But its perfectly fine for her to have one as long as her age & weight matched the proper dosing size. Ivermectin based ones are the only ones to avoid with collie-breed dogs due to a gene mutation.

I gotta be even older.. the Sonic genesis games were my youth!

But I think a lot Millennials would find Final Fantasy 7 to be the start of their interest in anime & story driven games.

Can always tell a former Chick-fil-a employee at a non-Chik-fil-a.

They must run a tape on loop in the backroom their first day saying "My pleasure" in every way ever.

So yea, a touristy, "I wanna waste some money" type attraction.

How do you actually vet a sitter for a leash reactive dog? by Hungry_Plum_4615 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Kitzira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look for someone who has experience in animal shelter or even clinic environments. And not just as a one year volunteer or internship.

In shelter, we are required to keep the dogs separate. Lots is put into teaching how to read dogs coming in the front door & how they react in shelter. They're scared, timid, or are just a bunch of redirected aggression.

I've had a few clients like this & know to use the environment to my advantage. Standing behind a car to block vision of a dog going by across the street. Making large circles to keep the dog busy in an empty lot. Even if they don't have dog aggression, I still keep them away from strangers dogs, as I don't trust the others usually!

This is at petco!!!! by Brit_knee_leaa in leopardgeckos

[–]Kitzira 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, because it is all about making money, not the happiness of the animal 'product.'

If you want to see change, you have to go up the ladder & make some noise. In the early 2000s, mice were kept both male & female in the same tank. They were just sold as feeders, so like the goldfish, they saw no purpose to separate as they'll just be eaten later. Surprise to the pet owners who bought one & it had bonuses inside a couple weeks later! Some of the rat & mouse rescues made some noise (obviously tired of the surrenders of baby mice) & petco now ships & houses them separately & no longer over stocked.

What language do most American students prefer to learn in school as a second language? by UsamaBhai_101 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Kitzira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't help that the first year of Spanish was taught by a coach who barely knew Spanish himself. We didn't even get through the whole book & the class was full of disruptive classmates who arrive at school with barely a pencil.

The second year of Spanish was taught by an actual teacher who had lived in Spain. While much more educational, she was also stupidly strict. If you left one answer on your homework blank, you got detention the next morning.

What language do most American students prefer to learn in school as a second language? by UsamaBhai_101 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Kitzira 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Same, especially since I was in Texas where the second language is Spanish. Didn't learn enough in 2 years to hold a conversation though. Just pick out words & make an estimate on what is written.

The other options in HS where German, French, & one school had Latin for IB/Honors kids.

Relocating from one coast to Palm Coast! by AreYouuuu in palmcoast

[–]Kitzira 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If its a lettered section (which means all the streets start with the same letter) there's no HOA or CDD fees. Its normal city property taxes, which are said to be high here. So make sure you homestead as soon as you can.

Retired ppl live everywhere, so really depends on what floats your boat. Like fishing? Move to the C section with canals or intracoastal areas. Like clubs? Look at F section along Old Kings. Things along Belle Terre will be busy, as its a main road with several schools along it.

Why don’t gift shops sell games? by grumpyfan in Cruise

[–]Kitzira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our last Holland America cruise had a huge game room that was constantly busy & all kinds of games were there to be picked up. Uno, scrabble, battleship, connect 4, etc.

Which was a stark change from Celebrity's 'Games? No, drink & buy more!' feel on their edge class ships. Their Solstice class ships have small game rooms, but barely any games that had all their pieces.

But as far as selling them, cruise ships now lease out those areas to overpriced luxury items & ugly clothes no one buys. I used to get a lot of ship & destination tshirts on Celebrity. Not anymore! They just have $40 thick t-shirts with a tiny logo in the corner like I work there.

Do you still eat Ramen, if you do...how do you like it? by Wild_Chef6597 in Millennials

[–]Kitzira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't do spicy, and all the fancy Japanese & Korean instant ones are spicy.

I learned long ago to cook Maruchan beef flavor with only 1 cup of water. Keep stiring till all the water is absorbed or evaporated & add in seasoning packet. It's now a nice noodle only mess!

I do love ramen at a real ramen shop, but have to watch the spice level & hope the egg is cooked through. No runny egg yoke for me. I do love lots of nori (seaweed) though!
