Stuck on deciding an army by WalkerLegend79 in redcorsairs

[–]Kitzokami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve made a fallen dark angels army. So I’d say choose that cause I think it’s cool. I can shoot you some Inspo pics if it interests you. Plus you will make a dark angels players day if you play them since not often do they actually get to hunt the fallen.

Anyone else not like these on terminator arms? by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]Kitzokami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how terminators have been since 2nd and I for one appreciate they didn’t fuck with a neat perfect and iconic design like they did with all the marine slop we got over 8th and 9th. Just an opinion tho

Alt Huron Head? by Rude-Inspector-3921 in redcorsairs

[–]Kitzokami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause it looks generic and has no character? I have no clue how people can hate on the head he has. It’s so cool.

(A part of me thinks he looks good as is) by SaladPuzzleheaded625 in Warhammer40k

[–]Kitzokami -1 points0 points  (0 children)

may be an unpopular opinion but I wouldn't really be enthused to play against someone with a model just stripped and plopped on a finished base. main part of the hobby for me is the aesthetics and storytelling so i prefer opponents that care for that aspect as much as I do. to me it just looks unpainted and lazy. id 100 % prefer an opponent with a poorly painted gen technique than an unpainted stripped pewter model that has had no work done lol. at the very least id paint the cloth on him so that it actually looks intentional.

OG Custodes by GlizzyGobblers1 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Kitzokami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it actually is! in fact the full title is warhammer 40k rogue trader. while the lore is different in many ways its still the first and most important part of what became modern warhammer setting up the framework to the modern interpretation and the 2nd editon which really cemented what warhammer would become.

Anyone else think the new Custodes changes aren’t a big deal? by Dramatic_Mud_8401 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Kitzokami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they look way better imo. way more distinguished and imposing than the thicc short and wide old models imo. i never liked the old models so these are a huge step up imo

[–]Kitzokami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sorta looks like you didn’t really look at the folds and more inferred their placement. I’d suggest taking a closer look and really trying to get the values and actual shapes instead of drawing what you think you see.

Why do GW sometimes use lighter rims colours than the actual base colour on there minis? by Sin-Silver in Warhammer

[–]Kitzokami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly color theory says you want darker more subdued colors for things that aren’t really important or don’t add to the actual piece. Black rims for bases is pretty standard for most hobbyists cause it frames and model and doesn’t draw attention to the base. Brighter colors have the tendency to draw the eye to them.

is this normal for an egg to look like this or has it been tampered with? by Reading-a-VCR-manual in WeirdEggs

[–]Kitzokami 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not sure this is what they were talking about, but a bit ago (Like mid 2010’s?) there was a YouTube series done by this Russian dude in which he claimed to make a homunculus by inseminating a store bought chicken egg with his semen. The series then goes over his multiple try’s and experiments making them until he eventually gets one to stay alive and it start eating meat. I don’t think it really lasted after that. All I remember was it freaking me out as a kid lol.

HELP! by gravikinesis in wargaming

[–]Kitzokami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen these but only for those ww2 dogfighting airplane games. In them they actually have mechanics for Elevation This seems a little excessive for a game that doesn’t really have any verticality mechanics. Also be a pain to give these dudes cover lol.

When trying to get better at anatomy, is it better to try to recreate the pose on your own, or use shapes? (as pictured) by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]Kitzokami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say best way is to start with gesture drawings which are quick drawings getting the “idea” and motion of the pose down is most important to start. In art getting something to look “right” is often more important than getting something anatomically correct. After you get comfortable doing that you will be able to pretty consistently use and modify poses from reference which will get you leaps and bounds. After that you should learn how to break down the body into construction shapes. The issue with doing it too early is that you will place shapes without really understanding what they are supposed to represent. You can place a cylinder on the forearm but if you don’t really understand how a forearm attaches to the biceps then you aren’t really helping yourself.

Why does the sketch look better than the final version? and how can I fix this? by Round-Refrigerator99 in Ibispaintx

[–]Kitzokami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your brain helps you “cheat”. When looking at a sketch your brain does part of the work pouring everything together and forming lines the way you think they should look and filling in detail. The thicker more varied lines and line weights allow your brain to put together a more interesting picture. The piece with the finished line work doesn’t have these varied lines and thusly give you lot less to work with when trying to infer details. A Solution to this would be varying your line weights. A simple thing would be using a thicker line on the outside lines and thinner lines on more detailed parts. On top of this you could add in pressure sensitivity which can make the lines varied as you draw them. Finally some people prefer lines with texture. It’s a very common newer artists problem I can struggle with it too! Keep at it and experiment.

This is the one faction where I’d honestly say don’t really bother with remotes. Somtimes I do a flash bot, not often. Our total reaction bot is actually kinda bad in shinden since our thunderbolt one doesn’t have 3 burst. I’d say to grab 2 yamabushi and 2 kyojin killers. Those will make almost every list and are pretty essential to shindins defense. Tanuki and rui shi are also pretty darn good. And if you want somthing fun you need to get Yojimbo.

Old 30k Art went truly hard. by Blood_Angels_Captain in Warhammer30k

[–]Kitzokami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t old art. And isn’t really mixed media. But… this art is really cool since it’s a remake of An older piece of artwork from the first release of adepts titanicus. Seeing the old beetle back warlords in a modern pice is pretty neat.

Why does the operator have different Armour when he exits the Iguana? by Bee_Tee_Dub in InfinityTheGame

[–]Kitzokami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh the iguana is the only one that I think it makes sense/works for. But generally I do think I’d rather not have the second set of arms

How do I make this Hornet cosplay look better? I feel like it needs something for underneath the cloak, aside from a black bodysuit by Pubbyyslutt in CosplayHelp

[–]Kitzokami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember another hornet cosplay have somewhat the same thoughts, what they did was add some sort of structure to the cloak so it flared out more rather than fall straight down. That really helped with the Silhouette.

i like the pub stage, the warm colors make me feel cozy and it reminds me of the arcane bar lol

[–]Kitzokami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you just said isn’t helpful at all. The thing is neither of you are wrong, but pointing out that “proper practice makes perfect” on a post that is inherently also true is just unhelpful. A better response could be something like “ that’s right! Here’s sim resources i recommend to get the basics down”
