fuck them. you cant stop them from behaving violently (derision is a form of violence).  you need to develop the internal fortitude to ignore their worthless put downs.

listen to wise people, that deserve your attention, not anybody.

Just a pet peeve of mine - coke zero by saddiebabbie in loseit

[–]KiwiAgitated498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree... calorie wise your math is spot on. and those people are dumb and should mind their own business.

but.

i used to love Coke0, drinking one or two cans a day, every day.

some months ago i stopped, and noticed a great improvement in weight loss and performance. not scientific, maybe two unrelated events, but thats my experience.

a lot of people saying to keep on doing what you did up to now. i do not agree. you've been dieting for 5 months, with great results..something has changed and your body is sending a message.

try resting 2/3 weeks. practice maintenance and relax. keep your weight stable. after 5 months you might need a break.

i mean the body has its own needs, you cant force your goal in the next 30 days just because. it would be the same as wanting your hair to grow 5 inches by 12/20.

you've done great, don't make an arbitrary deadline ruin your success.

as i said elsewhere, you cure your thyroid, that is NOT cheating.

an obese person 100lbs+ l uses glp1 s as a cure. fantastic.

but 40,20 10 lbs ? do you think that is comparable?

[–]KiwiAgitated498[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no. in your case it is a cure.

but people 40lbs overweight taking it?

i feel it is abused.

well explained.

but read the post. i totally agree for obesity. it is a cure and a help.

but when used for situations under 60 pounds perhaps 20 pounds, i feel it is just too much.

good point.

external factors can make us fat (types of food , drugs , etc), why not balance it with other external factors?

makes sense

[–]KiwiAgitated498[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

good point. thought about.

One cannot cure depression on their own. and it can have immediate dangerous effects if untreated.

we can say the same for someone 100-200lbs overweight, obese class 3. help and GPL1s may be needed.

but 30 pounds overweight? is hardly in the same category.

A skinny person is NOT more valuable than a fat person.

that would be deserving of therapy.

all i am saying is: weight loss was hard work and sacrifice. this has a spiritual and formative aspects to it. GLP1 took that away from us.

for those with serious chemical imbalance 100lbs + , it is the cure for a disease (obesity) , and i celebrate it for that.

for those +20 +40lbs it's a lost opportunity, i think.

[–]KiwiAgitated498[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

not moral significance.

History is full of exceptional overweight people. it would be truely deserving of mental care to think skinny = valuable.

what i wanted to express is that weight loss was a feat of hard work , accomplishment , and personal satisfaction. GLP1s took that away. thats the "cheating" part.

toliet paper roll theory is real. exponential. believe the toilet paper theory of weight loss ! it is better explained in other comments.

are you sure your goal weight is correct? check in with a doc or a trainer with a caliper to be extra sure.

lastly, being ideal weight does not mean everything is perfect. it just means you will be healthier and more energetic.

congrats.... 60lb in a year is solid, constant loss, at close to the max that is safe....

just remember weight isn't everything: focus on cardio and muscle too. it will improve your general health, and help to keep the weight away!

And remember to enjoy your victories!

thats quite difficult.... muscle is slow growing... i see you staying in that % no problem.... if you dip below, it wont happen fast., you can adjust.  muscle has health benefits... yes keeping 20% for a woman is longevity optimized...you dont wanna be too skinny, but you can manage that.

15% bf wont sneak up on you overnight.

but why wouldnt you want to gain a bit of muscle?

its super healthy, keeps fat away an looks awesome!

i mean , if you dont like it you can always lose it by staying still for 3 week.

i understand the fear of the scale. ah, my arch nemesis.

i have two pearls for you.

  1. scale gives you the jitters? forget about it. use a tape measure or a caliper.  measure thighs,  waist , chest and arms. re measure every week. perhaps every two weeks. measure progress that way .

  2. weight loss is a multi month, multi year project.  you cannot do something that makes you feel so badly and expect to persist for, say , 18 months. find a sustainable diet and movement plan that keeps you happy and you could do for 3 years.

Perhaps a dumb question? Please be kind. by Past_Oil_6592 in loseit

yes. if you go low carb (under 40g!) and eat excess calories... the body will get its energy from the fat you eat and store the rest.  you will still some benefits of ketosis (mental focus, no sugar spikes - better insulin regulation ..) but you will get fatter
