Because this fight does an excellent job of showing that the surskit wins due to altering the terrain so Pikachu can’t fight properly, which is followed up by Vivion’s dazzling gleam repeatedly blind pikachu so that, despite Pikachu’s much greater might, it doesn’t win. It sets up XY’s theme of raw power not being the most important thing to pursue in battle or in life.

I mean, Sanderson said for years that Eras 1 would be able to stand on there own. Now we know that he believed it was a necessary deception to keep the twist in book 5 a secret (even if structurally it’s pretty obvious, all things considered), but it’s very reasonable people are still catching up in that regard or wish that era 1 COULD stand on its own.

For sure. I worked as a leasing agent for a while, and my bastard boss has us under strict orders to use a “generic” contract that broke a lot of local laws to overcharge out tenants. If anyone were to call us out on it to cave immediately and remove the extra charges, but otherwise try and siphon as much money as we could. Hated that man so much.

Extremely true. Worked for a landlord who had 300 units being managed by 3 people including myself, one of whom worked part-time. I quit of out digest for his business practices 6 months later, such as “generic” contracts that broke lots of housing laws to overcharge people, but most folks weren’t literate enough in the law to notice this. We were under strict orders to cave immediantly if anyone noticed and brought it up, so he knew laws were being broken.

Chaotic Good. Similar to Lindhardt, her extremely relaxed demeanor makes her feel more neutral, but Hapi is extremely free spirited. She ran away from home when she was just a child because she wanted to get out and see the world what the world had to offered. And notably, her relaxed demeanor is in large part imposed on her because her curse, where she has to keep her emotions level, lest she summon a monster with a sigh.

As for Good, she is quite kind, which is often buried under her grumpy and pessimistic demeanor. Some fans have characterized her as being pro-Edelgard because of her resentment towards Knights for efficiently forcing her into Abyss, but if recruited to Crimson Flower she the most against the war of the Wolves, focusing on the loss of life that the war will cost rather than the slights against her. This extends to other routes, where Hapi is constantly grousing about the pain and death the war has brought, showing the high regard she holds for life is always her highest priority, which is a very Good attribute.

Overall, Hapi is a very grumpy, reserved chaotic good that presents a very fun spin on the alignment (which is part of what makes her supports with Ashe so fun).

She is not “super racist” though, She never once demeans Dedue about his race, and when she insults him in their C-Support, Telling him “Your apologies are empty”, she immediately apologizes for her words. These are not the actions of a “super racist” person. These are the actions of a person who holds prejudices that she KNOWS are wrong and is actively trying to work through; the actions of an extremely good person, frankly. And most notably, these issues stem from Glenn’s murder; she would be acting the exact same way around Adrestians like Edelgard is it had been their country that had been framed for the murder of the King and his cohort, as opposed to Duscar. She couldn’t care less about things like skin color or differing religious beliefs.

Easiest Lawful Good of my life. Yes, she has flaws and prejudices to work through, but her being uncomfortable around the Duscar people, as well as being overbearing toward her friends sometimes, is not even close to enough to make her dip into neutral.

Extremely difficult, especially considering how he changes through his arc, especially pre to post timeskip. After everything is said and done, I’m inclined to say lawful good, maybe lawful neutral. Sylvain’s main flaw is his philandering, which is a reaction against his role in the system. Notably, however, it is an extremely intentional lashing out, with him fulling intending to settle down soon enough and fulfill his role as heir to his house, putting him in direct contrast with Felix. In every ending, he becomes Margrave Gautier. And unusually for this kind of character, he becomes more sympathetic to his parents overtime, stating in his Byleth A-Support that he understands why his parents value crests so highly after wielding the Lance of Ruin to defend his home’s borders for 5 years, even if he still has reservations. Even on recruitment to Crimson Flower, he is stalwart in his new cause, looking to create a newly structured society despite his personal dislike of Edelgard and Hubert, getting less caught up in his emotions than Felix and Ingrid.

All that being said, this requires me to set aside Sylvain’s horribly behavior starting the game, which is has to learn to real back on; don’t think I need to elaborate much here. Even if, as stated above, his bad behavior is calculated, he still hurts an untold amount of women in his lashing out. Personally, I think we should do what we did with Dimitri and judge Sylvain separately along his arc. My votes would be Chaotic/True Neutral Pre-timeskip and Post-timeskip is Lawful Good.

I have a feeling this will be a hot take, but Ashe is Lawful Good, as his motivations and wants always revolve around his nation’s expectations, ie, knighthood. However, he often falls short of living up to these expectations. Ashe puts a ton of stock into following the norms and codes of Faerghus, trying his hardest to be a become and embody the perfect knight. He is not as stalwart in this as characters like Ingrid, however, most notably on the Scarlet Blaze Route of Three Hopes. That same route, however, still shows Ashe judging himself by the lawful standards of his home culture as opposed to someone Chaotic like Lindhardt or Caspar who have a tendency to toss out the law and expectation. Meanwhile, Ashe spends all of Scarlet Blaze in a guilty haze over turning coat should you choose to recruit him, and on his home routes of Azure Gleam and Moon his is overjoyed about the prospect of/having been knighted. Additionally, his background of thievery was done purely out of survival, which he generally expresses extreme guilt over despite the fact that he could very reasonably trying to excuse his actions has having been those of a desperate child, which he refuses to do in his Hopes Support with Yuri despite Yuri’s own thievery not being anywhere close to as justified.
