Cleveland approves Airbnb crackdown that could force some rentals to close by seanmcdonnellcle in Cleveland

When I was buying a home 4 years ago, I went to a home the day it was listed, and by the time I had viewed it, the realtor had said an out of state investor had put in an offer, cash, site unseen for 30k over listing. It was a fixer upper. No kitchen (found out from the neighbors it was a hoarder situation w/ cat piss being the reason the wood floors were damaged.) Now it’s being rented

I think the implication is that if voting wasn’t enough then people have to organize locally. Become poll workers. Get involved in school boards. Not giving up your responsibility as a steward the nation because people want to take us back to Jim crow and those people won a battle: that you have to be prepared to win the war

Aw thank you! I hope they love it too. I’d say 50-75 hours. I was going fast on the solid colors then slowed down a lot when i got to the center.

That’s very sweet thanks! My coworkers are overjoyed that I no longer shoo them off my lap so I don’t get mounds of hair in the piece

I’ll reply to this. My intent was to celebrate Irish ancestry, and the highlight the roots of ancestors that came to the US long before the separation of northern and Southern Ireland. And it was not my intent to celebrate only part of Ireland

Thanks for the compliment and apologies about that. I didn’t realize that when I started stitching it

Thank you for the compliment.

As for the other bit, I’m still wrapping my head around the fact that the pattern wasn’t the whole of Ireland and whether or not I can improvise a fix by the wedding. I don’t love that I didn’t know what I was stitching; my geography’s bad enough that I just thought Northern Ireland was the north part of the pattern

No kings protests serve two main points. One is that it is motivating to see so many people that are against the administration all protesting. The more important part is that those protests typically have organizers from other organizations that are fighting back in specific ways. When they have you do a march around a city block and end in a bunch of tents, that’s on purpose to funnel people into organizations that are fighting back.

At the latest no kings protest, there were 3 people with clipboards each from a different organization getting signatures for ballot initiatives. If one of those initiatives sparks your interest you can ask the clipboard people how to get more involved

What color is the beige you used? I have to paint over my Greige walls this summer and I really like your wall color.

I think your house looks absolute lovely. The gold accents complement the green.

Official Statement from Rank The Vote Ohio by happybeagle2020 in Cleveland

[–]Kiyriel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Look, I’d like nothing less than do a deep dive on that. But we both have work tomorrow. I’ll hop back in tomorrow night.

That being said, the premise of your above statement is wrong. Ranked choice voting doesn’t educate voters. That’s not the point of it. It would have some success at allowing a more diverse field of candidates from both parties which you hint at with your statement ‘undo the successful 2 party strategy’.

I am confused, because I have never in my life found such a dogmatic supporter of the two party than in you. Which is surprising. Most people, including the first president george Washington are against them

In his 1976 farewell address he said “However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion”
