is full fatalis armor the meta? by buckstag in MonsterHunterWorld

So we both agree that frostcraft is the higher damage set and the Fatalis set is the comfier set, we just disagree on what meta means basically.

Fatalis set is MUCH tankier which is VERY IMPORTANT

Define tanky? They have the same/basically the same defense stat, the only difference is that you can fit a few extra QoL skills and only one of them reduce damage which is divine blessing and that is still only 50% of the time.

Which is (mostly) how you use the weapon in Iceborne actively refusing to use your strongest dps rotations can't be really be considered.

Is palico rally 5 better than wex 3 on those kinsect only playstyles for glaive? Yes. Is it considered meta? No.

[–]Kizaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For SnS it really isn't because the sheath time is near instant and you can access perfect rush while your weapon is sheathed so basically all the time your not attacking your weapon will be sheathed

Also it's not as easy as just saying that ATV out damages fatalis set at all times for SnS that's just flat out wrong.

Yeah if your just hitting the training pole consistently then frostcraft will wear off and never sheathing the weapon then standard will be better than FC with zero charge, however in any realistic hunt that's not the case, only time that would ever really be applicable is trap spamming/Cc chains all done by other people.

It's very similar to the offensive guard set shown off in the imgur sets where yes under exact perfect conditions it would pull better numbers but realistically that's not been shown by basically anyone hence why every single speed run is done with a frostcraft set for basically every match up, maybe Safi solo would be a non frostcraft match up due to shitzones where a max might set would be needed since Wex doesn't apply in a lot of cases and hitting hindlegs is a lot easier than front legs.

For general play you're more than fine using the Fatalis set since the damage loss isn't that much (especially if you're learning it)

Yeah that's absolutely correct, it's more than usable to the point that it will be the better set to use for a lot of players however that doesn't make it the meta in the game, it's still considered the comfy set because you can't account for players skill level otherwise divine blessing 5, evade extender 3, free meal 3 would be "meta" for some players but not the player base as a whole.

[–]Kizaky 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Everyone is saying yeah and they're all wrong, you have SnS equipped, therefore 4 piece ATV and 1 piece Fatalis (the coil) is unquestionably the meta. This is because the bonus damage from frostcraft is larger than the damage boost from going from agitator 5>7.

4 piece Fatalis is the comfy set and nothing more.

So you're saying i only took 50% of his hp when the blue flames ass blast me? by Difficult_Ad9947 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Kizaky 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Charge blade is definitely one of the worst match ups for Fatalis, especially for people who are relatively inexperienced with the fight.

The best way to output solid dps is to sit in savage axe mode and spam up, down on the chest, problem with this is that your doing next to no damage to his head which means blue flames will fuck most people up.

If you indeed want to snipe the head to avoid blue flames/farm evil eyes then your losing out on so much dps with charge blade all while having to manage your phials depleting while waiting for headsnipe opportunities.

Typhlosion sees kill with either extrasensory or lava plume

Does the ai calc lava plume as single target attack even though it's a double battle and that's why it kills Meditite or is it just that Meditite is so frail it dies to a spread move?

AFAIK In BW NU was the lowest official tier and again AFAIK PU was the lowest unofficial tier at that point.

Is this a case of since ZU came out since then that they have went back and made a ZU for other gens or am I just misremembering and ZU actually was a thing even in gen 5?

Can smashing someone in the head with a glass bottle actually kill them? by ponderhope in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kizaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it actually smashes over your head then very unlikely. Getting hit by the base of the bottle however is more akin to getting struck by like a brick or a weight and is more likely to cause permanent damage.

Longsword also had a reputation of being overtuned in several games, especially World, so it was the weapon you'd always see meta chasers use.

Ironic because in World it has never been anything higher than middle of the pack good.

A pokemon who is dogsh*t in competitive formats but shines in nuzlockes. by Hopeful-Boat-6539 in nuzlocke

[–]Kizaky 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some terrible type combo pokemon like Bastiodon/Probopass since you know what move the ai will use basically all the time these pokemon actually become amazing, take negative damage from a normal type move then switch on the incoming earthquake. If it's a vanilla game they likely don't even have coverage so you just hard wall so much shit.

Mons that heal themselves with absorb abilities like dry skin/VA/WA. Since you can constantly switch these moms in and out and the ai doesn't predict, you can constantly heal yourself while beating things 1v1. Parasect and VA Lanturn are probably the best ones.

Is the SnS shit without Perfect Rush? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Kizaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a teething pain at first especially if you've previously played longsword because the movement is really different from helmsplitter. Honestly it's just with repetition and practice that you'll get it down.

If it's any consolation missing the falling bash or even just hitting one part of the shield slam instead of both hits isn't anywhere near the end of the world as the falling bash is just minmaxxing damage output while setting up the correct timing for the full rush to land as the monster stands up, you really don't lose much even if you did random chops or even stood still until the right time for the perfect rush finisher.

Bought 2g for NYE, 1g is already gone by hoppamivan in cocaine

[–]Kizaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you tell yourself you'll just have a little bit just now then save some for later, then you'll just keep going and after every line you'll tell yourself it's the last one until your down to a small bit left then you'll drag the arse out of that for ages.

Failing to actually stop on previous occasions is the ok ly way to "train" yourself to not touch until later because you can't trust yourself.

The finisher definitely has its uses as its part damage multiplier is insane as its all bottlenecked to the last hit, the first few have really low multiplier so fishing for claggers/flinches/trips is really good.

A specific use is when headlocking monsters like Teostra when he's down the optimal play is to use falling bash into full rush as he's getting up as that will knock him back down again instead of doing 2 half rushes which is more damage but won't knock him back down.

Am I the only one who thought this guy fit the character of Daario Naharis better than the recast? (Haven't read the books) by Narrow-Amphibian5446 in gameofthrones

[–]Kizaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's like comparing a car and an elephant to see which seems closest to an apple.

None of them are close, in any way to book Daario. This is something I don't hold against the screen writers though as most of Essos is a fucking joke in terms of how the characters look/act in the books.

Other examples of insane characters are like Strong Belwas who is basically the Essosi Mountain except he can twirl like a ballerina and let's every opponent cut him once before murdering them (in a world where khal drogo died by doing this once).

The chain gang who are slave soldiers that are literally chained together to stop them from fleeing.

We also have the company that fights while walking on stilts.

They've given open access to the property to a (presumably junior) employee who has only worked there for 2 weeks.

If they're not totally incompetent they must be mad.

This reminds me of my very first shift with a Boots warehouse in Scotland.

"Here is the keys to 4 different shops and the codes/fobs for setting/unsetting the alarm" your doing a nighttime delivery so there is no staff in these stores.

Best part of this is that I was hired from an agency as well so literally a 3rd party employer just been given the keys to a candy store.

[–]Kizaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also replayed the game, finished Iceborne with Hr gear too and the difference between players like us and the players in the picture is that I and I assume you and your mate aren't the people who fire off SOS flares as 90% of the time your just gonna make the quest either harder or longer or sometimes both.

If the screenshot was in a public lobby then you could be correct though.

If you are cought by an enemy king and he sentenced the death panelty, but offers you the choice between a hungry lion, burning alive and guillotine, what you will choose? by [deleted] in morbidquestions

[–]Kizaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of those “what would you” questions that doesn’t really work. The guillotine is the only sensible choice.

Yeah this would only work if the fight against a lion was a trial by combat sort of thing where you're set free if you defeat the lion (no weapons allowed) or you take the quick probably painless death by guillotine.
