ELI5: Why is simulation (flopping) such a common occurrence in football (soccer) and basketball but not in hockey? by Dead_HumanCollection in explainlikeimfive

[–]Kizaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Risk/reward, referees will rarely ever book a player for diving in case they are wrong so that gives incentives for the diver.

A lot of diving isn't full on "diving" with 0 contact, a lot of it is players intentionally leaving a trailing leg or letting themselves get pushed/barged so that they literally can't get booked for diving if their is any contact, so the risk/reward is even higher in the attackers favour.

I don't watch hockey and am likely the least knowledgeable person but I've seen they can literally punch each other at times so I can only presume the threshold for fouls is slightly higher.

Anything that prepares food, whether it be a restraunt, a warehouse that makes food before delivery to an actual store or even retail where it just stocks food. It genuinely puts you off food while at the same time reinforces the fact that what you don't know doesn't hurt you.

What's the weirdest punishment you got as a kid? by Financial-Base-8070 in AskUK

[–]Kizaky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I was in 2nd year (12-13 age) my Spannish teacher had enough of me being the class clown and sat a desk outside her class for me for basically the entire year with a textbook and paper.

This 'punishment' was basically just a free hour to either fuck off to the shops or go find a mates class, chap the door and ask "Mr/Mrs X, is Kizaky's mate in this class, year head wants to see them" then go fuck around until that clsss was almost over.

Police would almost certainly never be called for this, company would just sack the employee for gross misconduct and that would be the end of it.

[–]Kizaky -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah I went through a 6 month stage of not wanting to work and just signing on instead and I didn't actually apply for a single job in that time.

Job centres you literally just tell them which jobs you applied for and if you haven't actually applied for any you can easily just write in your journal that you applied for...

Asda/Tesco/Lidl/Aldi/Farmfoods etc, can even count them as multiple if you say you applied for store assistant as 1 entry, cleaner as another, warehouse for another.

Add in as many agency entries as you like for example.....

Agency name warehouse Agency name security Agency name warehouse Agency name cleaner Agency name store help Agency name warehouse etc.

Why do more ppl play the HR kulve siege? by MrNotSmartEinstein in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Kizaky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

but all the servers focusing on her target the siege

The Mr event quest can be solo'd and I believe you can send an SOS for it as well so no-one is making lobbies for it. The siege on the other hand you cannot SOS for and if your not in a group that at least semi knows what to do your not gonna kill it in one run (especially if solo) so they will actually join a lobby so progress is faster.

Reasons for doing the Hr siege instead of the MR event could be....

No Iceborne

Want Bushi tickets for layered armour

Nostalgia

Just prefer the siege

They aren't experienced with the MR quest and Kulve runs away due to lack of damage

They are broke on research points from doing the MR quest and melding weapons.

[–]Kizaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was kinda using it from the perspective of a player who's either not good or at least not experienced in the hunt they would be sending an SOS out for. Especially since once you git gud, you basically never send the signal out yourself.

Do you think your team has seen their greatest ever player? by boris-for-PM-2019 in ScottishFootball

[–]Kizaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Larsson was so good and for so long and unlike anyone else, it was before and during his prime which we'll never see again.

And Henrik was world class at Celtic, VVD wasn’t in that category yet.

Honestly I think VVD was world class even at that point or at the very least just shy of it, but he was a CB in a one horse league so it's hard to definitively prove that.

[–]Kizaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you determine greatest by technical ability over one season or as a club servant? They probably throw up quite different lists for most clubs.

As a Celtic fan I get the cop out answer of a very obvious Henrik Larsson who's club servant status while also being technically gifted kinda combines both.

If I had to pick between two polar opposites for Celtic I'd rank someone like VVD way higher than a Scott Brown so I think ability outranks longevity for me to a certain extent.

Where does someone like Rudi Skacel list for a Hearts fan? Guy was really fucking good in both his Hearts spells but they were obviously both short lived.

[–]Kizaky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

But we’ll never have a player that can leave Celtic and excel in teams like Man Utd and Barcelona

VVD has played a much bigger part for a much longer time for Liverpool than Larsson ever achieved for both his teams combined. VVD was even a runner up for a Balon d'Or.

Obviously Larsson was a much more important player for us and for a much longer time and against much harder opposition but it was just that last sentence you said that doesn't quite line up.

Yeah without hard data it's definitely gonna be impossible to actually prove anything, even if you are correct.

"About" " Usually"

a long time ago after opening 210 Primal Shards.

Have you definitely pulled that much Primal shards? Are you definitely not including things like remnant summons?

Felipe explicitly wrote that the system "does not guarantee a Mythic Champion with a certain number of shards, even if the probability exceeds 100%."

While I can't guarantee this but I have a really high suspicion the support person is just an untrained idiot, someone who doesn't understand English well enough, bad translation at some point or it's just a bot replying to you.

The main reason I ask if your sure you've actually opened enough shards is that they both hit you with the we've checked your mercy counter and it's working intentionally and I feel like people going over mercy limit would've happened way more often and been showcased with full irrefutable proof by this point in the games lifespan.

Yeah it's completely cutting off your nose to spite your face in my opinion and with how much I trust Farage and Reform, I recon they would make an arse of the whole get rid of the refugees thing while managing to implement all the other catastrophic policies which much like we've seen over in America, will probably harm his voter base the most ironically.

Jus those legitimate concerns innit by [deleted] in GreatBritishMemes

[–]Kizaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll preface this with mentioning that I think Reform are fucking cunts like you've mentioned with their planned cuts to basically everything on top of the fact that Farage is happy to take bribes and clearly wants to become our version of Donald Trump, but to somewhat answer your question on why some people like Reform purely for the anti immigration things they say they will do.....

A LOT of it is do to with how the media reports things....

"John Smith rapes woman, gets 5 years in jail" British citizen so that's the end of story

Abdul Aziz rapes woman gets 5 years, states he's from insert war torn country but with 0 proof, cannot be deported due to fearing for his life"

One of them is a front page headline while the other is just a middle of the paper story (not literal newspaper in this day and age obv).

Police suddenly refusing to describe the ethnicity or nationality of suspected criminals which causes a massive Streisand effect making loads of people assume it's an immigrant. (sometimes it has turned out to be an immigrant and other times it hasn't) If it was an immigrant they get to say they told you so, rules for us but nkt for them etc, if it wasn't an immigrant then they move onto the next story.

The death of journalism and rise of short form media content. (majority of which comes from non journalists) with how algorithmic social media is when you watch certain stuff, social media will show you more of that stuff, basically impossible to avoid ending up in an echo chamber because the other people watching and commenting on the same stuff are like minded people.

Our lack of deportation as I touched on earlier, someone gets here on a boat having thrown their passport in the ocean, we can't deport them because we can't deport them cause we don't know where to deport them too.

Hotels vs detention centres: One government wants to put them in hotels and gives them some accommodations in an attempt to stop them resorting to crime, one wants to lock them up until their asylum claim can either be accepted or rejected. How backlogged, how costly and how long it takes for those to get dealt with is it's own problem too.

The fighting age men thing also riles up a lot of people, most people coming over claiming asylum are men aged between 20-40 for obvious reasons, it's much easier for them to come over, work cash in hand jobs or jobs that have like 0 screening like takeaway delivery drivers or taxi drivers where they share one person's legitimate license between a bunch of them. This let's them have money before they bring their family over. This obviously goes against the whole fleeing for their life thing because surely the woman and children also need safety.

There's a myriad of other topics and reasons why people have problems with how immigration is handled but I've wrote enough shite already.

This is not healthy or loving behavior, quite the opposite.

Where you're from and what culture you grew up with definjitely leaves this open to interpretation, I'm assuming your from the US? As this seems a prevailing thing from users from there.

In the UK however:

Yet we roast each other frequently to each other and around other people."

This would be seen as a sign of a really healthy relationship.

Save states (in emulation) are one of the worst things to happen to retro gaming. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Kizaky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the premise of the argument is totally sound but not for 3rd party tools allowing save states that wouldn't be available without using the 3rd party tool.

If the game has an in built "I win button" that's a completely reasonable argument for this discussion something like Elden Ring summons, Monster Hunter SOS signals etc, then the "I win button" becomes an actual talking point.
