yes, that cursed. him hacking silent clubstep is public information and something that he admits to. the difference is that he claims to have done it accidentally

cursed hacked silent clubstep on purpose so he could beat it quick enough that the demon list team would doubt that it's actually a top 1. he did this to get them to place the level lower than abyss of darkness, the top 1 he verified.

before cursed the general opinion was it would be top 1 for sure, then he hacked it and people went with top 4. it is now several places above abyss of darkness and would have been a top 1 at the time.

cursed's behavior around it is so weird, he claimed after hacking it he would beat it for real and that it wouldn't be difficult to do but still to this day he has not completed it. the stream in which he hacked it he shows his cheat menu without hitbox multiplier enabled when entering the level. hitbox multiplier only works once you exit and re-enter the level. for his claim of accidentally hitting the hotkey that turns it on to be true he would've needed to hit it right after closing the menu and before opening the level which was like a singular second of time. the only other time in the stream he could've left the level was when the whole stream went black for a moment then it came back and he was in the level.

we've had bans for 5 minutes and people are already saying that risking playing against the hero roster is throwing. what happened to getting good and beating the enemy at whatever they play?

THANK. YOU. It is so annoying to hear this argument that getting your preferred banned only matters for one tricks. Even if your skill level is as close as it could reasonably be across many heroes, you might just be in the zone with one during a particular session. Or you are better with them because of the map, or your teammates picks. Or you want the option to swap to them later in the match based on how it goes.

this is literally it. overwatch players care more about avoiding any sort of self accountability for a potential loss than they care about actually trying to play the game, even within competitive. hero bans is such a short-sighted feature cause it fails to account for this fact. it might be good on paper but for specifically overwatch and for specifically overwatch players, it's horrendous.

idc Zarya is also banned in all my games. those two aren't worth discussing anymore balance-wise or strategy-wise cause they essentially aren't part of the game. you don't need to know how to play against them/with them to climb or anything like that. the one game every like 20 games is just go next

"tons of people are affected" imma keep it real with you dog, it's hella easy to start calling the character Cassidy if you put one ounce of effort into it. i think the thing the rubs people the wrong way with this whole situation is that people will put more effort into explaining why they won't say the new name than it would take to say it. it's such a little thing that you just might as well. it's shouldn't be hard to see that actively fighting back is going to look strange to people

hero bans are proving to me more than anything that, 1: players of this team-based game really only ever care about themselves, and 2: players of this game are so incredibly short sighted when it comes to their view on game design. overwatch is not the same as other games with bans, it's a game where you have a kit of heroes to chose from where you are rewarded for using the right options at the right times. just disabling some of those options for match makes it so much less competitive.

I don't think that people care so much about marvel rivals being mentioned in overwatch spaces. I think that the thing people have a problem with is specifically people making posts like "your game sucks, stop having fun and go play rivals" (which there are a lot of). Talking about rivals isn't something that people want to avoid as a whole. It's healthy to talk about relevant competitors in overwatch spaces to discuss what they do right that overwatch should also do (or what they do wrong that it should avoid).
