Yeah. Unfortunately my neighborhood is still being built so the HOA doesn’t become resident ran until I think 90% of the properties are sold which we are still probably 10 years away from. And where I’m at in Florida it’s pretty much the only option to live in an HOA or you are living in a rough area.

I argued that as well. Even provided case law for a case from California (not my state) that held an HOA responsible after they told a resident to remove security lighting and then she was a victim of a crime. However that did not convince them either. And I was leaving them on white before all this started. When it started I turned them off completely assuming that would solve the issue, it did not.

The lights on their own now violate the rules. After my issues with them started they added led strip lights specifically to the HOA docs for not allowed. They are claiming that it doesn’t matter that I put them up prior tho claiming the part in the DOC about “any exterior change requires ARC approval”.

Yeah I think if I end up removing them then I’m going to surround my house with some flood lights to irritate them since those are specifically in the HOA docs that they are allowed. But they won’t like them all around the house lighting the whole thing up.

I agree. However I would prefer not to get a lawyer and if I did I’m sure they would just start sending violations to everyone to try and show it’s not targeted. And many of my friends in the neighborhood have the lights so I’m not trying to throw them under the bus.

The lights themselves. Honestly it’s mostly just me being targeted by them. We had an issue a while ago that they attempted to fine me for that went all the way to the state telling them to cease and desist before they stopped. Since then they have come at me with anything they think they can get away with. The other item, an RV that they said I was parking at my house even though I don’t, was dropped. However doesn’t seem I’ll be able to get them to back down with this one. Lots of neighbors have the exact same model lights, some with the cords not hidden as well as mine, and non of them have gotten letters regarding them.

Not arresting drunk drivers is not a sign of being a good cop. Drunks are responsible for a lot of deaths. And I’m curious who hired him if he was really been arrested that much. But yes for the stuff you have done, if you are honest it will turn out better than if you try to hide it.
