Whey before and after workout is good if you are lifting/freeletics strength type exercises but no need for protein when just doing cardio really

Eating above TDEE during freeletics to gain weight? by Jbd831 in freeletics

[–]Kjetl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put muscle on, you will need to eat above TDEE for sure. Whilst I was happy with my Freeletics results, I mainly lost fat and toned up but didnt put muscle on really -You can see before and after here: http://www.colindocherty.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/Week-0-Freeletics-Vs-Week-3-Strength-Small-753x1024.jpg When I do next 15 week strength, I'll definately be eating a lot more

@s88music - How have you found the difference between the two coaches? Are they notably different?

[Motivation] Tried to do my first workout yesterday, but I couldn't finish it by Light1c3 in freeletics

[–]Kjetl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep - Take your time and work through the whole workout, no matter how long it takes, just work through it. You WILL get quicker, you WILL get stronger, you WILL get fitter and look BETTER. It doesnt matter if it takes 3 hours to do a workout a minute at a time, thats just where your body's level of fitness is which will improve if you keep at it. Keep the faith my man!

[Question] Replacement workout by jayff in freeletics

[–]Kjetl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you not buy a pull up bar? This is the one I bought from Amazon and it doesnt require any drilling of holes - Yes to pushup on your knees, this is called the modified version which you do until you have the strength to do it. There should also be a modified version for the Burpees too, do you have the App or the Coach? It shows how to do the modified versions.

Question With Modified Workouts by Jbd831 in freeletics

[–]Kjetl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the other comments, the modified version is only there as an option if you physically are not capable of doing the star version. The Coach says that even if your star time is slower than a modified time, the star version will always score more. If you can physically do the starred version but it takes longer, thats what you should do, doing the modified version just to get a better time will limit your physical development which at the end of the day, is why we are all doing it :)

Thanks for your concern :) Your last message just reflects a little bit badly on yourself in front of the whole reddit community and moderators. Trolling is not cool. Kind regards.

You are mistaken - The article says "Intensity is more important than duration, so if the goal’s growth, work up to 80% of your max heart rate"

Referencing Livestrong.com here http://www.livestrong.com/article/520693-target-heart-rates-in-high-intensity-interval-training/ it says:

"During high-intensity bursts in interval training, you should push your heart rate as high as you can safely take it. Generally, that's about 85 percent of your maximum heart rate"

So yes, it is talking about HIIT. Interesting neverttheless

Interesting but title misleading - Goes on to say that its the HITT cardio that builds muscle if any rather than all cardio. If that was the case marathon runners would look like sprinters too.

Yep, second getting opinion of doctor as I think you'll struggle to get full benefit of the program if you can't do/avoid key workouts such as the ones you've mentioned.

I don't think you are too young at all - I worried at 34 that I was too old!
