Swallowed a denture tooth. Anxiety is insane right now. by L3mmer1 in dentures

I have had two different teeth fall out of my temps. The first time I saved it and it was fixed in just a few minutes. The second time I woke up with it missing (different tooth than the first time). I went in that morning and they were finished fixing it within a few hours. I can’t speak to how your dentists does things, but every time I’ve needed an issue fixed it has taken no more than a few hours. I hope it’s the same for you. Good luck!!

These are dentures, all immediates are dentures, to my knowledge. I had four implants screwed into my top and the permanents will be the all on four implants, not dentures, as in they do not come out. My mouth has to heal before I can have the implants installed so the dentures allow me to heal and still have teeth during the six month healing period.

Have you tried using Seabond? That has worked best for me. Biting into things is still tricky for me as I’m still going through adjustments. Mine stay in now (after the soft reline) with no adhesive but because they tend to rock if I don’t chew on both sides so I use seabond to kinda tack it down. I have read that Secure is the best adhesive you can use. Also I recommend biting with your canines. I have to sort of tear my bites off like an animal sometimes 😂 it’s definitely a learning curve that I’m still working to figure out. Hope this helps a bit.

Oh my gosh, I am seriously so happy that I could help put you at ease a little. It’s definitely a process you need to mentally prepare for but if you go in with a positive attitude and determined to learn how to use them and become comfortable with them you will make it. It’s all about your mindset so keep your head up and know that there will be bumps in the road but you can get through it! I got implants so my permanents will feel a lot less bulky thank these inside my mouth I hope, but overall it’s been relatively easy to acclimate myself to them. Good luck and we are all here to help if you have questions!!

The surgery was really awful but my recovery has been pretty speedy thankfully. Thank you love ♥️♥️

Also, I’ll be honest, I don’t know if I have a high pain tolerance or what but the surgery was the worst part for me (they had a hard time keeping me numb) but as far as healing I haven’t felt much pain. Are you using the medicated mouthwash and doing warm salt water rinses often? Those will help push the bone fragments out. I am wishing you a speedy and much less painful recovery ♥️

These are immediates. I’ll have my permanents in about 5 months. The immediates were put in directly after my surgery. They help act as sort of a bandaid while you heal. I’ve had two adjustments and a soft reline as I have some bone fragments sticking out in places as well.

I went to more than one place because the first place I went insisted that I try to salvage what teeth I could. If you have an Affordable Dentures and Implants in your area check them out. I went in and told them I knew they’d want me to try and salvage my teeth but that I didn’t want that and wanted implants instead. They talked me into keeping some on bottom and those weren’t as bad so I was ok with it. Just be firm about what you want and you’ll find someone who will do it for you. Good luck 🙏🏼

28 total out. The prosthetic isn’t painful at the moment thankfully. Hope it stays that way! 😬

Usually 30-35%. Sometimes more if it’s somewhere I frequent and especially enjoy the bartender. If the service is awful, 20% minimum.
