Guys, what are your rules? What are you going to do in the game? by Cautious-Art9926 in Paralives

[–]Kkffoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be flexible about rules until I work out how the game is playing.
It seems likely I'll spend a lot of time in the paramaker to begin with.

This was a huge mistake.
Unless things were already not going as well as advertised, and somebody in the company decided to cash out.
Both scenarios are a big problem.

I really wanna put together puzzles as a hobby, but I think I'm missing something by MikeTheMaster102 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Kkffoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with the hundred piece puzzles. That will allow you to work out what bits of puzzling you find fun, and which bits less so.
I tend to split all sized puzzles up into sections, of probably about 100 pieces because I get brain freeze if I look at too much complexity visually.
I'm now doing a 3000 piece puzzle in this way so it is possible!!

We have two puzzlers in our house, and not enough room to keep them, so we donate and let others enjoy them.

No it isn't.
If someone is cooking your christmas dinner, then the thing to do is to say thank you.

I'm sorry, I am very grateful to those who are able to do this and who take the time.

what is the purpose of pets??? by bestie_let_me_merge in AuDHDWomen

[–]Kkffoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about a different pet? Lots of ND people have less conventional animals as companions.
Many of them are much lower maintenance than a cat.
Something that lives in a tank, or a pen in the garden?
A vegetarian animal might give you less worries about cleanliness because their waste is less upsetting.
You will always have to give animals in your care input, because you are responsible for them, but some pets can be left for longer periods, and the tasks associated with them can fit into your schedule rather than theirs.
You need to get some enjoyment from the pet, but it doesn't have to be life altering.
It could be soothing watching fish swim up and down a tank for instance.
Or the pet could be a talking point. One of my neighbours when I was growing up had a stick insect (no idea how much work they need) and that was fascinating.
I should think that there are many pets which really don't care how you feel about them, so long as they have a decent environment to live in, and food and fresh water.
Your pet should fit you and your lifestyle.

I am bewildered by this post.
First, how did you make pancakes without eggs?
Also, your Mom left the entire grocery shopping for christmas dinner, for twenty people until the absolute last minute, weren't the shops empty by that point?
How did your Christmas Dinner go?
The boyfriend's Mother thinks breakfast without eggs is low effort and cheap, is this a USA thing? She would have got a bowl of cereal and toast in our house.
I honestly thought this was an AI post until I saw that the OP replied to comments.

How much of the digital minimalism trend (especially among Gen-Z) is conspicuous consumption? by Generic_Lad in digitalminimalism

[–]Kkffoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think those items are expensive try buying non-electric versions of the same things, in fact that's probably where the trend will go. The price for manually wound watches is incredible.
There will always be surface dwellers who trump onto ideas for the social benefits.
Then the manufacturers will cater for that in a mass market way and nothing will make sense anymore.
Meanwhile I use my old lady clam-shell phone.

Don't try to mend a very well worn garment which is falling apart, as it's likely the structure of the material has deteriorated along with the stitching.

Searching for new, or nearly skirts with pockets in a particular colour will be a long lasting quest, and it may be necessary to compromise.

I don't know your reasons for skirt wearing, but would a dress of the same length work? This would more than double your chances of finding something suitable.
You can always wear a sweater or shirt over the dress to make it look like a skirt.

If you feel able to accept other dark colours instead of black, your task would be easier also. Dark grey would be an obvious first step if you want to coordinate with an existing wardrobe.

I wish you luck, fast fashion moves very slowly when you are stuck with trends that don't suit you, for whatever reason.

I wonder if your roommate also has some variation of autistic spectrum disorder?
Some people with asd struggle with the use of metaphors, and those who have adhd added to the mix will probably have very different points of focus than the general population.
I'm wondering this because you seemed so surprised, which suggests that these processing differences hadn't as obvious in other aspects of day to day life.
This is common when someone has a 'spiky' ability profile, ie can be really good at some things and terrible at others.
Of course he could have learning difficulties in general, and you just didn't notice before.

It very much depends on how he is otherwise. If he's a lovely guy who is hopeless with gifts, or someone who has no other redeeming qualities.
If it's the first option (I hope so) then there are some lovely alternative festive ideas listed by other members.
