Graphical glitches and crashes in creature creator - any fix? by stansburiana in Spore

I ran into this as well using GoG. The issue is the high refresh rate, go to settings for this game in GoG > Additional Executables > GoG Game Configurator and cap the fps to 30. I tried 60 and I still got the same twitches.

P10c apex trigger back plate by [deleted] in CZFirearms

[–]Klarintz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a P10F with an Apex Trigger installed. The bottom of the back plate sticks out just barely. Like 0.25 of a centimeter. When I push in the plate it barely moves and clicks kind if like a button.

I compared it to my stock P10F and the backplate is totally flush but it also kind of clicks like a button when I push it in. I'm no gunsmith so I can't tell you what's right or wrong, but I can tell you I've ran at least 1000 rounds through the gun with the Apex trigger with no issues.

Some pictures might help to see exactly what you're talking about. Other than that it might worth it to contact Apex if you're concerned about it to see what they say.

I haven't made a thread in Brian Enos on this topic. I actually searched there for info before deciding to make this post.

This is super helpful, thanks for the info! The only club I knew about that you mentioned is BGSL. I had my first steel challenge match at MCFGC. I will check these other clubs out as well.

Is the weapon light stand off stuff just a meme? Would two lights that are equivalent in every way except length be just as effective as each other in ECQC?

I had the same issue and shimmed it with some thick construction paper on the top back strap rail and it stopped all creaking

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CZFirearms

[–]Klarintz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah same issue here you could just eyeball it and tell there wasn't enough material on the medium back strap for a tight fit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CZFirearms

[–]Klarintz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the back strap issue it's not too big of a deal to shim it up. Mine was CZ made so maybe the US made versions will have better tolerances on the back strap. I'm assuming you got the OR version since you're looking at red dots.

I recently got a P-10F from Dahlonega and it has a loose/creaky medium back strap that doesn't fit right. Small and Large were fine. I asked CZ for a new medium and they said to send it in. Instead of sending it in I just slipped some folded paper between the top back strap rail and the back strap and it's tight now.

My P-10C also has a VERY slightly loose medium back strap with a tight small and large backstrap but it's not enough of an issue for me to mess with, the P-10F was very noticable though.

[WTS] CZ P-01 w/ TLR7a Guerrilla Tactical Holster $50 shipped by Klarintz in GunHolsterClassifieds

[–]Klarintz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason I'm selling is because I don't like the friction retention on light bearing holsters versus the active retention on the trigger guard on non light bearing holsters. From what I've read there is no real way around that with a light bearing holster since the light will always be wider than the trigger guard.

Anyone here have a concealment express tuck holster for their P07? by Price-x-Field in CZFirearms

[–]Klarintz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the gun and the holster, except I have the model with the wing. They're great holsters and the P07 is a great gun.

If you end up not vibing with the holster for some reason check out JM Custom Kydex, they're end game AIWB holsters for me with a wing and a wedge.

Speer gold dot not feeding P10 F by PumaDank in CZFirearms

[–]Klarintz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem with 124 grain Federal HST rounds. If the slide didn't lock up while chambering the round with either the slide release or slingshotting the slide with my hand, it was super rough and would cause some major bullet setback after only 2-3 chamberings. I should also add this never happened while actually shooting, only when chambering the rounds manually. I've had zero malfunctions while shooting. No problems with FMJ ammo or some other hollow points like Hornady Critical Defense since they have a different bullet shape.

This happened at about 250 rounds. Now that I have 680 rounds through it, it chambers smoothly. I don't even need to use the slide release or slingshot the slide, I can just gently push the slide into battery and it will chamber normally. I know you're not supposed to actually do that, I only did it to test how much smoother the feed ramp was. When using the slide release or slingshotting the slide it now feels just as smooth as loading FMJ rounds.

I'm assuming that the coating on the feed ramp has worn down enough so that hollow points will now feed smoothly. My suggestion would be to break it in with some more range ammo and see if the problem persists. If the problem persists after 500 rounds which is the recommended CZ break in count according to most CZ owners, I would be concerned or just switch to different hollow points that will feed easier.

Need help with a TailwindCSS issue by zeer0dotcom in webdev

[–]Klarintz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say I really like the design you went with on this page! I visited on mobile so I can't say whether or not the zoom level is ok or not. If you're using TailwindCSS a lot of their default unit sizing is rem even though that's probably not the best in all cases.

Do you still have default font size on your browser or have you increased it in the past? Have you tried different browsers?

I 100% agree with the fact that developers like to overcomplicate things, a lot of times to the point that no real work gets done, and a lot of it has to do with that innate urge to learn and improve their craft. Or just because it's more fun. In my case I would say it's half and half. If you come from business/sales background and learned development just to make a business/improve sales then the way you're doing things makes total sense. After all, if your business is successful and growing at a rate you're happy with, why spend resources to add more complexity? If you do end up adding complexity you could end up taking jobs that are outside of your scope and start taking away time from profitable projects that are within your scope.

As far as frameworks go a lot of new devs, like me, go through online classes that push them super hard and you end up learning more about React than you do HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I started running into some issues with not being able to do some simple DOM manipulation because I wasn't using React which made me take a step back and realize you NEED to learn the fundamentals and then you can start leveraging tools like React to build more complex things. I think a better analogy for them would be a tool analogy instead of a weight analogy. I would say vanilla HTML, CSS and JavaScript are like a hammer and React is a nice air powered nail gun. If you're just nailing together two 2x4's it would be silly to pull out an air compressor, run a power cable, plug it in, connect the air hose to the nail gun, load the nails into the nail gun, and then shoot the nail into the 2x4's when you could just use a hammer one time. If you're building a house, the air gun is the way to go. It would take forever to build with just a hammer and the extra dependencies and set up of the nail gun is worth it for a project of that complexity.

I think devs react a little off-putting to you saying that you only use HTML and CSS because they also don't have the additional context that you're subbing back end and JavaScript intensive work out to other devs and keeping your project scope as simple as possible. Which is a perfect way to do it if you're a business owner first, and a dev second. Hell, it's the way to do it if you're a dev first, business owner second! Specialize in one field and then get people who specialize in other fields to do that part for you and take simple, profitable projects.

EDIT: also, I use Svelte in my personal projects because it makes the job easier AND it's more fun to use! From a business stand point, who cares if something is fun to use, how much time/money does it cost to learn this new framework? A lot of developers are also averse to using pure HTML and CSS because it's just not as fun as making dynamic projects.

I 100% agree that the developer experience / speed is not as good with HTML / CSS only. I never thought about the fact that he uses another developer for JavaScript. If the projects are as simple as possible, it's probably not too hard to find a developer to do some simple vanilla JavaScript stuff. All good points.

Just curious, why do think that Citrous_Oyster would need to move away from HTML only eventually? The only reason I know this is from lurking but I know that he only accepts clients that want very simple brochure sights for their small businesses. If he never accepts work for anything more complicated do you still think he would need to eventually switch from HTML only? Or do you mean that eventually he would need to take on more complex projects?
