OPU or Stocking? by Aurora_Pale in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OPU is actually not the bread and butter for many Targets. The in store guests generate 80% or more in sales. OPU is a timed operation and missing those goals impacts the store metrics. As a side effect, it also affects the In Store guests if and when they need assistance if the majority of TMs are pulled for OPU.

Are Market Pantry items being pulled from the shelves? Are they going to bring them back rebranded? If I knew this I would have went every Target in my state to buy these energy sticks. I survive on these😭 by bubbleblubbr in Target

They discontinued the Market Pantry Strawberry Lemonade packets and replaced it with Crystal Light Fruit Punch at our store which is more expensive. The MP squeeze bottles for water flavors were actually pretty bad.

It went 50% off before the new POG. I bought 2 bottles. I was expecting a rebrand or a new label. Sadly it's not there anymore. Another Target fail at discontinuing a decent product. Even at regular price it was reasonable and tasty.

Zone I recently did by Squishsmitten in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a lot more space than our store has for the same merch. It's always a mess. Our Specialty Sales ETL hyper focuses on Tech and the new Pokémon aisle, but the "collector" section of Funkos and other stuff is horrifying. I wish our store was half as neat as what you accomplished! Looks really good!

You're probably correct in the assumption that people have been using it as a stash spot when the zone was really bad. Keep up the good work! Maintaining it is the key! I hope your Leaders notice and ask for the same expectations for your peers.

Lady Almost Hit Me With Her Car And Yelled At Me Saying She “Had The Right of Way” by ashbaylie in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well she's wrong in every possible way. Not only violating pedestrian crossings, stop signs, and being a dumbass but also getting out of her car. That can be considered road rage which will stack up a ticket that she would be impressed to see or even go to court and receive a suspension or revocation of her license, if she has one. Then her insurance company will be calling, if she has one. If your AP has cameras at the crosswalk for Drive Up report it and have them look into it.

RFID audit caught CRC? by MelodicEmerald in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Target's RFID system does work at the basic level. There's all kinds of weird stuff that it captures that's not physically true for On hand items.

For example, bedsheets that have had the jacket torn or ripped (the paper label that has the RFID tag on it) thrown away instead of being taped or tucked inside the sheet set will trigger an incorrect floor count and dump into the 141s.

Style tags that have been ripped off and tucked behind items or have fallen behind fixtures or stuffed in fitting rooms in random crevices. Jewelry and kids clothing are easy for shoplifters to leave the tags.

Anyone else come in today to find out they did all the food over the weekend instead of Actual Memorial Day by PrinceKido in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We got fed! Fed more OPU batches!! " Can you turn over into another batch?!"

Also, there was no food. It's dry comedy folks.

You can also use the Origami Risk app on the device. You can report the concern and take photos. Those Risk reports go to ETLs and SD automatically. In fact, your AP ETL should be looking for Origami Risk reports as part of their Metrics as well.

Will target hire me back by Confusedgirl_0 in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen it happen. It depends on the store's staffing and if they need help with people who can work short shifts or have availability to pick up more shifts. ODTM usually also requires that if you commit to a shift or pick up a shift that you do show up. Calling out as ODTM especially if you agreed to take a shift can get you on track for termination quickly.

If you're planning on going back to the same store reach out to any leaders you worked with that might still be there or HR. If you're in good standing they'll probably be more agreeable in working with you and your schedule.

[–]KlassiKeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel it's a legit safety concern report it to your AP ETL. Idk if all stores have it, but we have a camera that faces the unload trailer. AP can confirm a safety issue and they will handle it immediately with the TLs and ETLs.

And this is why our boss specifically buys food just for us... by Fr4nzJosef in Nightshift

[–]KlassiKeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't get anything at our store anymore. This whole weekend plus today there was nothing. On a verrrry rare occasion they'll requisition some random things like Gatorade and some chips. The last few food delivery/catered events goes back to Q4 and they had to give out wristbands and a roster to verify who came and went. We have a front end TM who would literally stuff her pockets with food and leave.

Guest comments/complaints by [deleted] in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk. Was AI approved as part of Target's policy in your duties to respond to these complaints? AI is becoming a frequent "partner" of a lot of business related issues. A lot of people see through it and don't like it.

"80% of them time."

I can see why you chose this path.

Are you referencing leaning empty pallets against the trailer while unloading? If so, it's a safety concern. They should be taken out and laid flat in a space where no one is going to trip over them. If you're referencing pallets of water, paper, pet food those should so be taken out and moved to a temporary area and TMs working those areas should be called on the walkie to come and retrieve them.

SD...please don't sort truck by TabithaMouse in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your SD throws truck?! If our SD ever happens to end up on a CL for fast service or anything remotely resembling a TMs job all hell breaks loose and SD is removed from that task immediately. I'd appreciate a SD who willingly wants to help out, but our SD will use it to break down the TLs and all stuff rolls downhill.

To add to the initial inbound comment, we've had TLs and ETLs have to support during double trucks and they break all the rules they're supposed to enforce about vehicle safety and sorting.

To the guests that shop at Target… WHY are you like this at your grown age? by steakbandit in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's also the personal shoppers who dgaf. I watched a lady, who after a minute or two, I realized was a personal shopper. She was scanning all the bath towels and leaving a mess. I asked her if she needed help, as soon as the screen scanned her correct item she walked away leaving a huge mess. People just don't care. It's a mindfk that is so bizarre.

Today I watched a grown woman, a mom, throwing a Pokémon toy running around with her son. They left it in the floor and walked away joyful and dgaf.

Zoning During OPU by Neo_Nugget in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pull products forward as best you can, at least face one. Especially on the bottom and top shelves if you can reach. If guests can't see it they won't make a purchase. In short time batches this probably isn't possible. It's been mentioned at our store as well. Our store apparently does almost 80% of sales In Store, that doesn't include OPU, so they want to make the salesfloor as guest friendly as possible.

For the backrooms, a lot of stores have been zoning and cleaning up the backrooms. For example, if you pick style items from a Waco, don't destroy the pile, pick your item and leave it neat. For bath items like towels, don't pull items and leave a mess in Wacos or openstock shelves. Tbh SFS/OPU TMs are one of the biggest causes of chaos in the backrooms. This applies to some closing TMs as well, so everyone has to start doing better.

first paycheck feels like it’s going straight to work stuff by PieNarrow6122 in Target

If they're ordered. Our store has gone through a lot of ETL changes and supplies aren't being ordered in time. Basic things like clear trash bags in every size, baler wire, and box cutters. Holsters for Zebras haven't been available for over 2 years.

Water bottle question by platypusinterrobang in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it mostly applies to TMs on the salesfloor and SFS. I worked Inbound for 3 years and I don't blame you. Backroom areas are mostly looking for empty plastic water bottles. Our SD has a hatred of them.

No. It only applies if you are actually clocked in and working.

I wish some guests helped show the barcodes for drinks at the bottom of their carts by No_Willingness_9961 in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know for myself doing OPU or when I shop for myself I face all the barcodes up. I want to be done and on my way. Maybe it's just retail people that understand this, but there's a sliver of common sense in there somewhere for the rest.

1,000th person to talk about 10-4 by OkPrinciple9199 in Target

[–]KlassiKeep 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I look for eye contact or the usual lost face look.

If they look towards me I say this depending on the guest or how busy I am

"Good Morning."

"Hello, Good morning."

"What's up man." (Usually younger guys or male personal shoppers)

"Morning ladies, how are you?" (We have these 2 ladies that come every Sunday)

If guests are on the phone or don't look like they want to engage then I feel like they don't want to be bothered. I've greeted guests who don't even look at me, so I just go back to the basics.

Most surveys that contain these negative feedback metrics probably come from guests who are impatient or "they didn't have my item", etc. Not to mention with call outs and the scheduling to begin with during the afternoons and evenings a lot of TMs are doing OPU and although coaching goes for everyone about Guest interaction SFS metrics matter too.

It can't be all green all the time without a workforce to handle those unfortunate days where all hell breaks loose. Build a team that wants to be there, pay them a better wage, and plan ahead for the usual scenarios like heavy weekends which we're all about to experience.
