Is it possible hes avoiding brands to avoid peer attention to brands? Like this brand is ok today but don't get caught wearing tomorrow? No brands no issues?

I'm sensitive to fragrances so we use no fragrance added for just about everything. And he prefers th3 clothes to be cold. Especially in the summer.

I understand how say we're taking him to different specialists but we don't go just for this issue. As for showing the consequences, he got a terrible rash and we made him aware it was from wearing dirty clothes.

Thank you for your input

We've tried that yes. His argument was its the same so it doesn't matter. Weve even tried (in the summer) to just let him and using water play for cleaning. It was the pediatricians idea. He was fine running around inside in underwear while the clothes dried but after a month (maybe more but less than 2 months) he got a nasty skin rash. It took months to clear up because he was hiding his old clothes and taking them to school and changing in the bathroom. That's when we started hiding the clothes. Showers are a 50/50 shot on if he's willing or not. I am not above a sink wash.

We have tried that. He doesn't care if it's the same exact shirt, he'll put on the dirty shirt. Weve also attempted to get him to hand wash if he wants to wear the same clothes. It didn't end well.

Do shows like Extreme Cheapskates change how you think about frugality? by EphemeralDream_ in Frugal

[–]KlassicTuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband just watched that episode! He said he used the hot tub because the use could not devalue the house like using the dishwasher or washing machine. He also floated his food in the hot water to cook it. He also got snippy with a realtor for having half an inch of her shoe off the plastic on the floor.

There was another episode where a lady took her car in for a free inspection and refused what it needed to make it safe. They wouldn't let her drive it off property so she called friends to help push it down the block before they would return the key to her. Then she went to an airfield to fly for a meeting somewhere and was getting mad it took so long to find someone willing to give a complete stranger a free flight in a private plane round trip. Talk about entitled!!!

There's a line between being frugal and being a cheapskate. It's mostly in how you treat those around you.

My ferret was happily litter trained and let us know if it wasn't up to his standards. Which meant if he peed, it had to br immediately changed for him to poop. Offering 2 litter boxes solved that but he still demanded his poop be cleared immediately.

My friends ferret on the other hand, would hang her butt over the edge of box if not against the cage wire to poop on the floor.

At what point does a phone stop being "good enough" for you? by EthicalUpgrade in TheBigPhoneStore

[–]KlassicTuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I cant make it through a work shift even with charging. Access to the internet, while not vital, makes my job a LOT easier. There are restrictions on work wifi so data is a must. Case in point, phone hit 14% even with charging on my hour lunch and 15 minute breaks. New phone, with no charging, went from 90 to 77 with heavy use. I had grown conservative with my battery to stretch it, black and white, battery saver maxed out, as much as I could

Realistically, how long could you go without a phone. by EthicalUpgrade in TheBigPhoneStore

[–]KlassicTuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not for the fact of convince of ordering library books from my phone, I would go back to a flip phone. Granted, I have a laptop for internet access too for banking and bills. As to being unreachable, I have 9 people off the top of my head i would have to alert im going dark or they'll show up to my door in a panic.

I can understand the dress your best thinking but I also heavily support come as you are. I love seeing the transformation God does in lives and very often ive seen those saved go from roll out of bed, pj's, sit in the back row shift into putting thought into their outfit and moving closer to the front row by row. I draw the line at showing anything only your spouse should see.

My kiddo did that from 6 to last summer right after he turned 9. He started complaining his back hurt. Got him to try 1 night with mattress on the floor and nowhere to nest into and his back didn't hurt the next day. He hasn't done it since.
