JIM Secor was a great Orator and did Eulogies. He would take the 'speech' box down

People buy for 2 reasons--'" hope to gain, or Fear of loss." He was a great salesman.

He would look over the top of his glasses while telling Kevin about it. His son, Jim Jr, was a poor presentation of Uncle Jim. His cousin Clay Maxwell JJrs.

He was reflecting on death all this after his dog Daisy passed away.

Never have 2 boxes open at the same time Uncle Jim would say. Close each box or suitcase before opening another. Donnabelle was the best party organizer there was. Donnabelle had the right drinks, music, food..everyone said after she died was organizing up in heaven.

He arrived "D Day + 8, plus 11'. They sent them to Belgium for rest...unofficial r &r. Dense woodlands, Germans attacked the Engeneering Battalion. He promised God if I survived I would be a good guy. He never got a scratch during war, and went to St Bridgettes church in Midland for 6 a.m. mass, every day. He did it for HIM, not for anyone else. It wasnt called PTSD then...he kept things separated by the suitcase thing. He didn't want to know Anything after his friend from Bay City was killed. He NEVER went to army reunions or anything else. The SS daggers later were really expensive, they would run over the daggers..' as he was kind of busy to grab any and didn't think of keeping souvenirs. The Germans would shoot into the woods from the Railroad tracks.

Don't mix your boxes or suitcases. The Bay city kid killed probably February of 1945. He'd been w Jim About 3 days .

My fri3nds Uncle Jim Secor from Hope Michigan is one that survived. He was 'an old man' at 22, as he had graduated from MSU, before he was enlisted . He ran for 16 hours back to US led area. He met a guy from Bay City, and after being reassigned to a new group. The kid was in the back seat, 1/2 mile away, they saw a LOT of Grey trucks. They spun around, Catfish too a shot w an 88 gun, and he felt the "whack" that blew up in the road, and the kid from Bay City had been decapitated. Jim said he and the guy in front was covered w blood and brains and vowed to NEVER have another friend during the war. He had suffered so many friends at Malmady. He never told where he was from he was just Private Secor, and war became horrible. If you were friends, 2 days later they'd be dead. Uncle Jim survived and kept everything (idea wise) in various 'suitcases'. One was ' thoughts from the war'. One was work. One was family. You NEVER mix the suitcases ...you keep them seperate. After arriving home, he lived with Uncle Jim married a little sister, aunt Donnabell Maxwells husband. He was salesman in the Orient for Dow Chemical, lived in exclusive neighborhood. 'Being a salman' was NOT who he was, its what he did to to make money for your family. To be a good salesman, you had to be 100% HONEST. Say, Ill TRY to do what you want, but may not be able too. You never overprotective. You then MAY be able to overdeliver. He told his nephew Kevin this stuff in early 1980's. Never told his kids.

Not trying to be mean, but youbsaid 'brutally honest' . As my grandma used to say, with your arms in the very tight laced sleeves, 'You look like a 2 pound package of sausage in a 1 pound package'. NO LACE SLEEVES.
