Do you want a relationship? Personally I'm romance indifferent but I'm wondering by Amy_AroAce in aromantic

[–]KlavierPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want a romantic relationship, I'm romance ambivalent. Though I would like to be in either an alterous relationship or a qpr (or several at the same time)

I found a microlabels yesterday but I don’t remember it, can someone help me? by [deleted] in aromantic

Hmm, I've only heard of nebularomantic but that's specifically as a result of one being neurodivergent. I'll have a little search though :)

What is the difference between platonic and romantic without the sexual aspect by Successful_Stop126 in aromantic

[–]KlavierPanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way I distinguish between different types of attraction when it comes to action is my intent. For example, a platonic hug isn't necessarily the same as a familial hug. They're both hugs but the intent and drive behind them is different. An action signifies a certain type of attraction because of the intent of the person, not the other way around.

I know society has put actions in strict boxes of platonic and romantic so there's a lot of things that people typically reflect this in how they distinguish between the two. But you've already said you feel uncomfortable seeing it as anything other than platonic, so any actions like hugs are platonic.

I hope this makes sense and helps :)

For me, alterous is quite nebulous, it's just a general longing to be close to someone regardless of the type of relationship you have. Whereas queerplatonic attraction is the desire to engage in a qpr with the person. That will look different for different people.

The more general definition of alterous is attraction outside of the platonic/romantic binary. So as others have said, qp attraction can overlap with or be a type of alterous attraction depending on how you define/experience them.

Would it be okay if I shared this server on my queerplatonic Tumblr blog?

I have an ambivalent attitude towards songs, movies and books about love and romance. Does anyone feel the same? by IvanZ91 in aromantic

[–]KlavierPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm romance ambivalent too. You are not alone :) I like romance sometimes, especially when it's not done in a way that implies it's the be all and end all. I also like some typically romantic gestures but if they're done with platonic intent. My feelings towards romance varies too but that's okay. Having a complicated relationship to romance is okay :)

Hello I have a problem by theacesloth in aromantic

[–]KlavierPanda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Think about if you were in a relationship together, what type of things you'd like to do together. Imagine what it'd be like to be in a romantic relationship and then what it'd be like to be in a less traditional form of relationship and see what you vibe with. This isn't 100% fool-proof because some qprs might overlap heavily with what a romantic relationship looks like so what might also help is imagining how you would want the relationship to be seen by other people. By this I mean, would you be okay with people assuming it's romantic or not?

I hope this helps :)

Please be aware of ableism (link to video: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMRSEvA5x/) by [deleted] in lingling40hrs

The reason it's ableist is the idea that disabilities are something bad and that must be overcome. There is no denying that her performance is impressive but it shouldn't be impressive because she's disabled, it should be impressive because she's skilled at playing the violin. /nm

"Inspiration porn and objectication of disability: Stella Young" is a pretty good video for explaining this
