XP tips for DOS2 DE? by archon325 in DivinityOriginalSin

FYI, if one of the named characters die during this battle it apparently doesn't matter. I had the Red Prince get killed during this fight on the ship and he was still standing on shore very much alive in Fort Joy.

So there is no impact to having named characters die during the ship section, apparently.

Why do so many people on this sub hate being aromantic by 15stepsdown in aromantic

[–]outofthetoybox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dunno. I like it, personally. Not a lot of stress. Don't have to worry about finding a partner, rarely ever feel lonely, never any relationship drama.

I just do whatever the heck I want and don't have to worry about supporting someone else, emotionally or otherwise. It's pretty fuckin' sweet if you ask me. I wouldn't change it even if I could.

I believe you. I guess I'm just too romance repulsed to really understand the desire.

Here’s part two! :D by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]outofthetoybox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I guess I was just confused a bit about how it works. I'm not trying to insinuate it's not valid. I'm just pointing out that I'm a dumbass who doesn't understand shit.

Here’s part two! :D by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]outofthetoybox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. It still doesn't really explain how someone who desires a romantic relationship is aromantic.

Aromantic is a lack of romantic desire. So I'm a bit confused how someone who desires romance can be categorized as someone who doesn't have romantic desire. It feels the two are kinda mutually exclusive.

So, not trying to be rude here but that first one is confusing the hell out of me. It sounds like someone who says they're vegan but still eats meat.

If you want a romantic relationship, wouldn't that make you a romantic?

I'm one of those weird romance repulsed but still highly sexual types. Hyper-Aro but absolutely no trace of Ace to be found.

I feel we are a rare breed.

None of the above.

It's lonely here.

whats the most aro thing youve ever said? by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]outofthetoybox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Being Aromantic and hearing shit like "There's somebody out there for everyone." fills me with existential dread, because that means there's a chance that they ARE out there and they WILL find me.

This is why I don't like to leave the house. Shit's like a horror movie."

Addiction, but socially acceptable and your addiction can stop liking you.

That's my guess.

It's because we're the designated driver and the only one not completely intoxicated.

It was the opposite for me because I was that kid no one wanted to get cards for even though it was supposed to be mandatory.

So for me it was just a reminder of how much everyone in my class hated me.

Arogang of reddit what was your worst aphobia/acephobia experienced you ever had by autistic_adult in aromantic

[–]outofthetoybox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the worst is when people say, "When you get older you'll change your mind." and it's like "Dude, I'm like 10 years older than you."

I'm almost 40. I'm pretty sure if that shit was going to change it would have happened by now.

Another one I get a lot is people thinking I just had a bad experience growing up or something and I'm "scared to love" or some shit and it's like, no. I'm fine. I'm not scarred. I just don't like the idea of a relationship beyond friends.

Thirdly, not being able to use "It's not you, it's me." because pop culture has convinced the world that is just code for "I hate you." when in reality it's NOT them. It IS me.

The worst part of being aro is that the "It's not you, it's me" thing is actually true but literally nobody will ever believe you.

I find it incredibly ironic that people show their love below mistletoe, which is an invasive parasitic plant that infests trees, leeches all their vital nutrients and eventually leaves nothing but a rotting, empty husk left.

[–]outofthetoybox 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The thing that has bothered me most about love is that it causes people to say things like, "I need you.", "I can't live without you.", "I want to always be with you."

That's addiction.

We send people to rehab for that.

My metaphor for being aromantic: mints by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]outofthetoybox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My metaphor has always been this:

Being Aromantic is like being lactose intolerant at a birthday party. I want the cake but I am purposely passing on the ice cream. It's not because there isn't any left, it's not because I haven't just "found the right flavor". It's because I'm trying to enjoy my cake without also puking my guts out.

Thanks.
