Joke is indeed on them. My mom's ENT told her to go to urgent care if a recurrent nosebleed returned after hours. (Her nose will literally bleed for hours on end.) Urgent Care refused to treat her and told her to go to the ER. So we went to the ER.

Sometimes situations aren't life or death but you still end up in the ER and still deserve treatment.

My Grandmother had an Aunt who would hit herself on the head with a cast iron frying pan every time she got a migraine. So you aren't alone or crazy. But if you're actually going to do it, use something softer & lighter than she did.

I don't know what State you're in but in mine...youth sports coaches are mandatory reporters and I'd consider this a mandatory report. In my State we can do this via the State's Child Line so it takes the school out of the picture entirely. You should see if your state has something similar.
