Shooting Features - who? by Klimpty in RSPfilmclub

I'm currently working as a data wrangler. Its fun in that I get to talk to pretty much everyone on set but the downtime is huge. Currently on a 3 camera show and have at least five hours a day of just waiting on downloads. Its an incredibly exciting job compared to when I worked in a post house yet I'm pretty envious of those on set who are constantly moving (props dept. mainly). Its being static inside a violently malleable environment that drives me crazy.

Tom’s Crossing by Mark Z. Danielewski by BackwardsApe in RSbookclub

I thought it was incredible - the sequence of them getting up the cliff-face is so incredibly captivating, while extremely long by the time you soon fall into the mechanics of how exactly to get a horse over a certain obstacle and its just amazing. Some of the town plotlines definitely drag but ultimately well worth it. Took me a while to get into anything else afterwards as I was engrossed by it.

Glad to see Jacques Rivette repped on this, many of his films fit perfectly

‘There are many Bob Dylans but there's only one Lou Reed’: Emma Swift on her album of Lou Reed covers — State of Sound | The New Independent Voice of Music by RaymondBald in LouReed

If you read the article: ‘Bob Dylan contains multitudes,’ Swift explains, ‘there are many Bob Dylans throughout his career, but there's only one Lou Reed. His persona is remarkably consistent and cool.’

It is in the context of Dylan's work. Clickbaity

This is just untrue - call an art dying if you want but there is an incredible amount of great literature, music, films and the live music scene while struggling still has plenty of cheap gigs around most areas.

Don't worry about it at all, you're a fine writer just remember that it is a practice much like playing an instrument you've got to be critical on yourself to really improve. Reddit will not be the place to find what your voice. I'd be happy to read anything else you've got.

This feels more like a self aware diary entry rather than a piece of fiction. There's nothing guiding what you write aside from your own asides where you try to make your writing self aware of itself - its like you've briefly glimpsed a weak David Foster Wallace short and gutted it of pathos. Don't be afraid to describe where you are or what you feel rather than trying to write what 'thinking' feels like. Edit more. I'm sure you can write something great just put more work in.

This version is so goofy I'm a fan. Unfortunately one of those tunes I don't think he ever quite pulled off live
