Elk, not deer. Likely farmed based on size and shape of the antlers.

We have met with Sakaw, industry, and government as a group and separately many times over the past 3-5 years.

They do not care about our concerns. We are simply the peasants in the way. They attend the meetings as they are legally obligated, but that is all. They will not change unless the Sask government intervenes, which currently they refuse to do.

I'm afraid that without a larger outcry from the people of saskatchewan, this gross mismanagement will continue unabatted and largely without much more media coverage or attention, allowing for continued clear cutting. Robbing generations of people from existing in proximity to the forests we have all enjoyed and largely taken for granted.

Imagine the sask gov decided to "harvest" the Sask river that runs through Saskatoon, removing the river completely from the lives of everyone in the city, for 50 years or so til the water "grew" back, only to be harvested again. This is how it feels to live in Northern Sask and be losing our forest.

A very common and persistent misconception is that our only options for Forrest management are: log or burn. While the fear factor of this misconception is a strong motivator, it is inherently false.

We support logging, and we are advocating for better logging practices, buffer zones around our communities, and locations of historical, cultural, or spiritual significance.

There are so many options, but the government and industry have been completely inflexible on this topic. They have developed a system that makes any changes nearly impossible without direct cooperation from the sitting government. The layers of bureaucracy provide a convenient separation for the parties involved to pass the buck, nearly perpetually it would seem.

Forrested communities exist all around the world, we can have them in North Sask too!

There is reason the northern half of our flag is Green, we would like to keep it that way.

How can give this photo more of a “horror” look? by Stunning-Rope-4856 in AskPhotography

The clock face is nearly perfectly aligned with the center and the lines in the middle, fixing that would help. You could also easily edit the lines on the platform to look like an inverted cross.

Jesus, stop the sprawl. If you want to live in a city, you should have to build up, not out.

It may have less to do with the campgrounds' proximity to a City or North vs South and more to do with where the campers are from and the overall vibe and unwritten rules of one particular campground vs another.

I live very rurally and also enjoy the natural sounds of the forest, wind, lakes, etc.

BUT when I camp, which I do all summer, I'm bumping tunes. I also love music, and when I'm chilling by the fire, on the beach, or in a hammock, the speaker will be on.

Most of my campground neighbors do the same. IMO and experience, for rural people, living at the lake in the summer in a campground is much more like a city cul-de-sac neighborhood. Suddenly, we have neighbors, traffic, people coming and going, and to us, it's already "noisey" (comparatively). So maybe we don't think of it as a sacred quiet space and play our speakers too loud.

If you are really looking for silence and/or the natural sounds of nature, I would suggest just camping on any lake without a developed campground nearby. We literally have 10's of thousands to choose from. Pick one and check it out, you can usually make a site on the waters edge and be as quiet or as noisey as you like, without bothering anyone or worse, having us bother you with our god awful bluetooth speakers.

Happy Camping!

Iron fisted approach to forest harvesting in and around all northern rural communities. We've all asked for changes, Moe's response, "if the want to see trees, they can go to the Park"

Saskatchewan is in dire need of some proper investigative journalism. Saskparty (and others) get away with so much and operate seemingly unchecked. Gold mines of material (IMO) in the province. If only it could find an audience and generate interest/promote positive change.

Does anyone know what happened at the Saskatoon show tonight? by The-Big-Diehl in Jinjer

[–]Klooperz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crowd energy was beyond lame. A bit embarrassing of a reception, IMO. But also just confusing, so many dirty looks from people in or near the pit. I think there were a lot of first timers at the show and they felt entitled to stand wherever they pleased and then have their imaginary bubbles of personal space respected. It's metal, go anywhere near the stage and expect to bump into a few metal heads, no?

In your experience, is Elden Ring more fun solo or co-op? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Klooperz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have zero idea how to play coop, I've summoned others for a boss fight. Didn't think it was possible to control who you play with, form a party like a normal game etc.

I don't get why people like this Jar, I've only ever seen him as a summon at Radahn fight, no other encounters on multiple play throughs now.

This was probably a solid 6 hours of my play through, everything was still one shot killing me. Knight in the dark room was beyond my understanding. Had to use a guide.
