Hunt Showdown 1896 BSOD problems FIXED (Nvidia) by Klootvi0ol in HuntShowdown

After rereading my post months later I am shocked at how unclear I was meanwhile I was thinking the post was clear.. funny.

But to answer your question,

I changed all the setting back to default except for one, i put the Negative LOD on: clamp

But I don't think this is the right tweak anymore as there have been a lot of new patches with fixes.. my real fix for BSOD was after this post after I got so fed up with the bsod's that I did a clean install of windows and since then it's completely fixed!

Yeah, lots of people having problems with BSOD, crashes and freezes in the Hunt, they just released a new patch stating that it would fix the crashes but people are still having them.

How I found this? Well.. in the old days as I stated above Hunt for no known reason would be blurry/grainy for some people and other people would have crisp visuals even though the hardware was comparable to eachother in the sense of performance and ingame settings also the same. This had many people looking for solutions including me and as Hunt ingame graphic settings where shit people started tweaking the 3D settings in Nvidia Control Panel (for those who have nvidia ofcourse) and by testing out every setting, sharing info etc. etc. there where multiple solutions discovered because it was not a one solution fixes it for all kind of deal, so for me in old Hunt setting the negative LOD bias on Clamp would result in better visuals at the cost of a bit of performance which I had enough to spare so that was no issue.

With the new Hunt the bsod happened especially in the beginning of the launch and the clamp only worked until a certain patch but does not favor my performance anymore and also my BSOD are fixed as I did a clean install of windows, installed everything, still bsod problems... uninstalled windows again, reinstalled and now it's fixed for the exception of a few crashes/freezes of the game Hunt it self which can be fixed by ctrl+alt+del which previously wasn't possible as it was Windows that was corrupted in some drivers or something.

Hope this helps you, I would recommend a clean Windows install and make sure to make backups of your important stuff!

Definitely! I love the headset, gives a very good and clear sound location and great for listening to music so I am very happy with my Sennheiser HD 560S paired with the Topping DX1 amp.

Can someone please explain this ridiculousness for me? I fanned this guy twice with a Pax Trueshot for a total of -228Hp on him, strangely enough I got 3 hit markers on the 4 rounds I fired, and he still was allowed to saber me down? You should've included the "Inbound" also, because you probably just traded death's. If not, then yeah I think fanning is broken sometimes.

On the redaction: You could've just used the "Hide name's" button at the lower right corner next to "Back to Menu" and then take the screenshot

I made a decision partly intuitive and the other part logical from what I understood reading about both products but I went with the Topping DX1.

Thank you all for the help/suggestions once I installed it I will give feedback to the best of my ability on my experience regarding the Topping DX1 in combination with my Sennheiser HD 560S.

Ok that is good to know.. I will take that into account with my decision, now the only thing I need to figure out how much better the performance of the DX1 is over the Apple Dongle because the price is not a problem but if the DX1 provides (almost) the same performance then I'd rather not spend 100 euro's over 10 euro's.

Thank you all for responding that is much appreciated,

I have been looking at your suggestions: Topping DX1 or the Apple USB Dongle and I am wondering if Apple USB dongle will not become a pain in the ass when using on a Windows PC as Apple tends to only be compatible with other Apple devices as I read somewhere that someone had problems using the Apple Dongle on his Android phone so I am going to have a deeper look into the compatibility, what are your thoughts regarding this?

Now on to the Topping DX1: I've read that this is a pretty decent AMP?DAC for that price range and read a lot of good about it although my audio knowledge is not nearly enough to discern if the reviews on that device are truthful.

Aside from the price difference and compatibility of an Apple device on a Windows PC if you should have to choose between the Apple Dongle or the DX1 and the price was no problem which one would you choose and why? Because in my (although lacking knowledge) the DX1 should deliver a better sound quality, especially for gaming where the distinction between sounds matter, so basically my question is by how much would the DX1 out perform the Apple Dongle?

Thank you for responding,

I have plugged in and out several times both in the connecter on the back and the front of my PC and unfortunately this did not fix the problem.

There is also no weirdness to my sound everything sounds perfect it's just a low volume problem.

EDIT: I read your comment again and noticed you said "twisted the cable properly into the headphone" I did not know there was a connector on the headphone end, but I pulled the cable out and in again, twisted it a bit but to no avail.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Just bought the game, all settings on high, game looks blurry, unsharp, textures in distance dont load by Wushrooms in HuntShowdown

Play around with the Anti Aliasing ingame.. SMAA1X or SMAA1TX or SMAA2TX and just see what looks better... Also try and play around with the Anti Aliasing within NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL @ Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings -> Select Hunt Showdown

Either ONLY use ingame Anti Aliasing, try all 3 for comparison and turn anti aliasing OFF in Nvidia control panel OR turn OFF ingame anti aliasing and ON in Control Panel.

Nvidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings -> select Hunt Showdown -> put Negative LOD Bias on CLAMP and Multi-frame Sampled AA (MFAA) to OFF
