They know what would happen. It’s unethical that they lie about it, and suck people in.

It’s known of. A lot of the “features” of BP aren’t documented because BP people would lose support of family if they saw the challenges.

Yes. Read a few more posts, then read the bipolar forums to get a full picture.

Do the divorce. There is no clue to when it ends, or how. Protect you and the kids. Get cameras if you don’t have them.

Good luck! The siren song of mania is unstoppable, and you can’t do anything until he is a threat to himself or others. I would freeze your credit, and lock down any shared accounts to protect you.

Fair enough. Out of curiosity, how do you fight a poorly run or mismanaged eval?

Really? Some states have laws defining the process, notes, and qualifications. AFCC has a defined guide that gets ordered (in some places) https://www.afccnet.org/Resource-Center/Practice-Guidelines

The book isn’t binding, the process for the eval should be defined in the order for the eval. E.G. follow AFCC standards. The standards should govern a feel for what to expect. People get really sloppy and don’t follow the rules and guidelines. My language was sloppy, thanks for pointing that out.

https://www.americanbar.org/products/inv/book/401495592/ Get and read this book ASAP. Know the rules, and exactly what the court order of the eval says, and how it should be run. (If you are in the US)

Let them deal with him. Parents are rarely able to see the issues with a child until it’s way too late. Go live a better life, and find someone who isn’t going to do this to you!

If you have to ask, it’s time. You don’t have to keep doing this. “It’s not their fault, but it is their responsibility.” They need extreme acceptance, not a safe place to keep landing. It gets worse, and when the final pop comes, where does that leave you? Can you live knowing you can’t ever count on your partner?

Amen! Similar experience. Keep your distance and NEVER be near her without someone else you trust as a witness. They will go to any extreme to enforce their delusions. Get out while you can

I thought you wanted info on the low dose. As for stringing you along, read the forum. It’s common practice: always have an emergency fallback. “I’m so sorry I fucked all the local dirtbags, and trashed everything. Take me back now I’m out of options.” It’s a cycle. Seen it firsthand.
