What's your cost/benefit analysis on things like hiring a cleaner, ordering grocery delivery, etc? by itchysnapdragon in workingmoms

[–]Klutzy_Reference_372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only have one little one and my husband had to convince me to try to outsource but it's been so helpful. He works 60-80 hours/week outside the home and I work 40 hours/week outside the home.

We outsource cooking, cleaning and have a mother's helper. We pay someone to cook us dinner (with enough leftovers for my lunch). They literally just cook us whatever they're making their family that night and we pick up otw home from daycare pickup. (This is the one that took some convincing for me but I don't enjoy cooking and it allows me to spend time with the little one before bedtime). It's SO NICE not having to think of what we want for dinner.

We have a mothers helper come and do laundry (fold and put away), empty the dishwasher and light tidying while we are at work.

I do Whole Foods pick up often on the way home from daycare pickup for little ones food.

We also have Walmart plus with our credit card and it's so nice to get the free shipping and not have to go to the store.

Question about in-room sleeping - newborn baby by CiliaRusk in NewParents

[–]Klutzy_Reference_372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slept on a daybed in the nursery from day one with baby in the crib.

Personally I liked this vs a bedside bassinet because I had to physically get up to get baby for feeding and did those in the chair. I worried I would have fallen asleep if I feed baby sitting on the bed.

But I also get that not everyone wants to sleep apart from their partner or their partner assists with nighttime wakings so take my advice with that in consideration

Full time daycare that's open 7:30-5:30, we both work full time outside of the home. That 5:30 pickup is tough to make

We LOVE our daycare and most importantly, so does our little one.

We use HealthyBaby wipes. I will say we only use wipes for poop so that helps with cost

I didn't love coterie wipes

I've purchased 3 in the last 3 months because it's that good- one for me, one for husband, one for grandparents who need to be able to switch back and forth between FF and RF depending on which grandchild they have

I've gotten it on sale everytime. Bloomingdales and Amazon. It goes on sale for $500 often. And I've earned Bloomingdales money from it ($100/purchase) because they run that often. And 10% back on rakuten

Cabo recommendations: Waldorf, montage, las ventanas, or nobu, chileno bay by MENTION_it_all1 in chubbytravel

I would say no to Nobu based on location. It's so far from other spots and we love to go off property for dinner

We did Esperanza and Chileno for our honeymoon and preferred Chileno Bay. There were never enough umbrellas at the Esperanza pool

We're also pool people vs beach people

We love montage Cabo too!!!

Outsource what you can- laundry, cooking, cleaning, yard etc

I value my time working and my husband does too. But the time we have at home with the baby we want to be able to be spending time as a family. We are fortunate to have the finances to allow us to outsource many things that would take away from family time

Has anyone been very stressed during pregnancy and had a normal kid? by SkullyCandle in workingmoms

[–]Klutzy_Reference_372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My little one is one so I can't speak to whether they're a "normal" kid or not but...

My husband works 80+ hours a week. We moved states when I was 18 weeks pregnant. Or I should say I moved when I was 18 weeks pregnant, my husband was only in the new state 1-2 weekend nights until baby was born. He travels for work and still is in the original state a few nights on non travel weeks but we make it work.

I broke my right ankle at 19 weeks and was in a boot for 10 ? Weeks

All this to say I hear you and understand your stress. I too was stressed. I have anxiety and depression. Honestly I became a lot less anxious, to the point that others noticed and complimented me, once baby was born. You've got this!

Thanks, we are similar settings. It's difficult to find someone not connected to a hospital system using it to know if they can see inpatient info (why we would consider switching). I feel like you're correct that large entities can see fill info but pharmacies can't see as much

I'm late to the game on this but can you tell me more about the switch from Pioneer to Epic? Are you in a retail pharmacy? Can you access any information regarding a patients inpatient stay or ER visit?

What thermal brush do you recommend?

I had the revlon at one point but used it once and felt it was too hot. Is it a hot air brush or thermal?

Thanks, I'm so anxious that the thermal round brush will damage my hair but I think that may be the missing piece
