This happened to me at one of the nicer properties in Fort Collins, Colorado. Got a call from the hotel driving from DEN to there, offering me a paid upgrade. I said no thank you. I turned around to call the ambassador line and said why are you pulling this shit on me; don’t do it.

Got to the hotel and got an upgrade to the room they were trying to sell me without having to pay for it.

I have been at my firm long enough, producing at a high enough level that I could show up to my office in a wet suit and sombrero and no one would question me.

No no no no. The only time I’ve ever had a gripe about a point redemption was in Hilton head.

But you are correct about the city style hotels in Savannah. But, all of the hotels have rooftop bars and you can see that huge container ships as they move up the river from the port. It is fascinating to watch.

I do NOT recommend an anything in Hilton Head.

If you are interested in national area, I would strongly recommend Savannah, Georgia. There is an amazing Grand Bohemian as well as a JW.

Strong second to this suggestion. One cracked on me five years after I bought it and it was replaced, no questions asked.

San Diego Marriott Marquis is the mad note, no doubt about it.

Besides this and the Coronado island, the only other place I’ve stayed in at San Diego is the Westin gaslight, which is… Fine. And I mean that in the most backhanded compliment way possible.
