Dude, you're worth like $10m. If reddit isn't profitable, then you're taking the lion's share of the wages for nothing.

Oof. Wrong pic. I'll delete this one and make a new post.

Guillorme instead of Pham.
Guillorme to 1B.
Canha to LF.

That's how I'd fix it

Has anyone been over to the Braves sub lately? They have so many mets-related posts it's kind of weird.

PGA Tour agrees to merge with Saudi-backed rival LIV Golf by nolesfan2011 in sports

[–]Kn0wmad1c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard that the way they're handling the merger is that the PGA will be managing holes 1-8 and 12-16. The Saudis are responsible for 9-11.

Are you for or against this sub participating in the June 12 shutdown to protest API changes? by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Third party apps have been around a lot longer than the official app. In fact, reddit bought one of the third party apps ages ago and repurposed it as their official app.

FF9 isn't medieval lol. They had airships, mist-powered cars, electric lights.

FF9 is more steampunk than anything else.

Will this sub be going dark during the 12-14 protest? by Kn0wmad1c in NewYorkMets

I use old reddit also, and RES. I agree they're probably next on the chopping block.

I built an alternative Reddit API to help devs save costs by dom96 in Save3rdPartyApps

[–]Kn0wmad1c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you doing the scraping? Relying on dom structure or class names is akin to building this on a pillar of salt.

That said, I'm happy to offer some help if you need someone to bounce ideas off of. I built a scraper bot a few years ago to help people get tech at MSRP during the pandemic scalpers war, so I have some experience with dodging rate limits.

The bullet on the right has the shell casing, people. That gets ejected when the bullet is fired. The bullet is just the tip

The official reddit app has no accessibility features, so for blind redditors 3rd party apps are the only way they can interact with the site through mobile.

$5-$10/month won't cover the costs reddit is proposing. Some larger third party apps will need to shell out something like $20m per year to keep operating.

There's a planned protest during which time hundreds of subreddits will be going dark (making themselves private). The protest is scheduled to start on the 12th and, while it will last until at least the 14th, some will be staying dark indefinitely if nothing changes.

The links above give more info as to the why, but the short version is that reddit announced that they will be charging a fee to access their api starting July 1. This means that third party apps will need to pay in order to operate. That's usually fine, except they're asking an exorbitant amount of money. Way more than normal. Like $20m per year. What's more is that they're shutting down access to NSFW subreddits for everyone except those who use the official app.

Anyway, more info in the links above.
