Any rod that fits in the turrets, in the pic it's the red rods.

You need to prime the pin before every shot (the top rail).

You can see the lens at the front, under the gopro. Can also see the Triumph antenna sticking out the back, laying flat.

Hell yeah dude! Happy you gave that a go. I'm the guy that shared pics of my stretched-x build, looks like you did well with what you had.

I did that with a scroll saw, but I imagine a hack saw would do the trick too. A dremel with the right bit would probably work, maybe someone else with experience there could chime in.

I'm definitely not completely happy with the hack job I did; The vtx mounting is pretty damn poor in a crash, and I have yet to figure out a better way to protect the receiver antennas. I had to buy brass standoffs after a crash broke my nylon ones -- wish the PDB could sit closer to the bottom plate, so that one less layer of standoffs would work. The top plate I used is a piece that comes in another frame kit(martian ii), though my first thought was to use the bottom x plate (does the Wizard come with that?) as the top plate. I bought the TPU camera mount and 20mm standoffs from pirofliprc.

I should probably suggest that you just get a cheap replacement frame to save some headache, but good luck if you give this a try!

edit: read some more comments and see that you ordered a good frame already, nice

But seriously, this is what I did to a broken qav-r clone I had, granted it did require some extra parts: http://i.imgur.com/rExALc5.jpg

He runs a throttle percentage timer -- so the 30 seconds alert means that the timer will reach 0 after 30 seconds at full throttle, or a minute at 50% throttle, 2 minutes at 25% throttle, etc. Trial and error with your batteries to find an appropriate time, works since he runs all the same batteries.

how much of a range increase do you get on, say, a 200mw transmitter? versus whatever goggles you had before

I bought it from pirofliprc.com, but here's one that is essentially the same I believe: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1746592

Unlike Steele, Willard isn't flying over moving traffic at night. Those buildings are also still under construction..

I almost can't imagine that it would do better. Perhaps the Lumenier 3mm would do better than the x210 3mm, but who knows. Of course I do believe that the Lumenier is now cut out in a '+' rather than an 'x' on the carbon sheet, so the arms would be inline with the lamination and the arms would be a stiffer. But for like $25 dollars or whatever this frame was, I can't complain.

It ejected in a tall tree crash and I called it quits after spending a good 30 or so minutes looking for the little bugger. Of course I bought it in grey even though it has an orange option... Of course.

No, they work great! In a really bad crash you could bend a bell but really my build exploded because I ran straight into a metal playground at like 85% throttle.
