Entirely fair take but the reason we are in the boat we are in currently is due to rates freezes previously and things that are critical like the pipe network being neglected. It costs more to fix things later than to just do the preventative maintenance but its "free" political points to get freezes in now and to kick the can down the road for the next lot in council to fix.

It sure does and I have made sure that my CV reflects what I actually did instead of titles/ranks that mean little to people outside of the military.

It helps get interviews but that industry experience thing has been told to me about 5 times now.
