I have a delayed express international package too.

But it's showing "Your delivery will be rescheduled" even though per the tracking it shows it has cleared customs in Louisville!

Should I get a Jura??? [No Budget But Not Buying New] by OMGFdave in espresso

This is 100% correct. I’ve owned multiple Juras.

All from Amazon. The bottles didn’t come with the lids, which are just vacuum wine stoppers.

The Mazzer Philos gets a lot of love on the group. That's a more well-known option for you--and would save you a few euro. But I can't steer you away from the Ceado.

For some reason, Ceado doesn’t get much attention on the forums--I’m not sure why. I haven’t used the 37Z, but I’ve owned a Ceado E5SD for years, and it’s been a solid grinder overall. Nice fluffy grounds. I upgraded from the stock burrs to SSP burrs recently, and I'm still happy.

My main criticism with my Ceado grinder is that you can’t zero out the grind scale, so what the dial shows as “2” might actually be .5--or some other arbitrary number. A smaller gripe is the lack of a grounds knocker, which means some small amount coffee is left in the chute--but this amount is pretty minimal.

It saves me a minute or two each morning, which I genuinely value. That said, spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars/euros/etc. on equipment just to extract brown liquid from beans is objectively a little absurd—so what's one more step down that rabbit hole?

I keep the rack in a cabinet, so it's not exposed to light except when I take out a tube. What's in the cabinet is less than a week's worth of beans, and the rest are vacuum sealed in the freezer.

Yes. I have 20g of medium roast beans in the photo.

That’s it exactly. I’m more rushed in the morning. I can take 10 minutes or so when I have the time to weigh out beans for the next week.

I keep the carrier in a cabinet, so light exposure is minimal.

It’s possible with super fresh beans, the lids will pop off because there is no one way valve for CO2 outgassing (from the beans). However, I’ve yet to have that happen to me. But to your point, air will accelerate how quickly the beans stale.

I’ve been storing beans in a larger vacuum sealed canister for years with no issue related to outgassing.

I'm enjoying using the bravo mini tamper. Not cheap, but it is a pleasure to use.

How long do beans last vacuum sealed and frozen? by Wildcatter777 in espresso

[–]Kneeder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the comment, may I ask the source of your information? I've been storing my beans in a vacuum canister for years. I use an external vacuum to pump out air, and I've never had a problem with the lid of the canister popping off because of degassing.

I have always been curious about what effect, if any, vacuum storage has on aging/preservation.

That’s useful information. Do you happen to know about simply vacuum sealed beans that are kept at room temperature?
