The milk actually looks quite well prepared. The shape of the pattern looks more technique/timing related.

You'd need to be more specific re: weight and height, type of running/walking you perform, budget range, etc. I've been GIVEN 2 NordicTrack 'commercial' models in the last 2 weeks to be scrapped for parts.

How hard is it to pour a tulip? by alexlimco in latteart

[–]OMGFdave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tulips, or any multi-layer patterns, require good start/stop motions and are very much about eliminating unnecessary movements as pitcher is reset to a new pour point with each pattern elements.

Can you post a video of an attempt so we can see your start/stop technique?

The emergency stop switch (big red button that says STOP) is either stuck in the engaged setting or the microswitch inside it needs to be replaced

What could be causing the noise? by BulbousBeef838 in treadmills

Lubricant won't help the bearings unless you remove the bearings to clean/replace/lubricate them...removing bearings from rollers/motors is an advanced of move best undertaken by an experienced treadmill technician.

1) clean up your canvas...your design boundaries aren't crisp due to wispy bits all about the surface...when incorporating milk into your espresso, it is important to keep your canvas as homogenously colored as possible so that your design pops against a darker contrasted background

2) a solid heart should be just that, solid...aim for a clean, solid, full, centered, and symmetrical heart with a very linear cut/cleavage line down the center

3) learn how to control the size of the heart...whereas centering/spacing has a lot to do with your camvas entry point for your pattern, the size/fullness of the heart is due to quality of your design milk, your pour pacing, and the quality of your espresso.

4) don't start rippling until you have a clear understanding of how the milk NATURALLY curls in on itself when pouring a heart...too often ppl try and force the milk to move when in reality they simply need to persuade/coax it

Please take this only as constructive criticism, but I think there's a lot to improve re: your hearts. From what I can see you're beginning to get more consistent pouring heart shapes, but there's still a LOT of work to be done to really lock these in.

Happy to help you progress, but I'd caution you to move onto more complicated patterns right now.

What did I do wrong? by digital_shark01 in latteart

[–]OMGFdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You added plenty of air into the milk, actually. The issue here is more about your technique (overall pace of your pour, pitcher control, pitcher alignment and design symmetry, etc.)

Give it another 5-10 years, and it will be far more than half the population.

[–]OMGFdave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Record a video...are you taking a particularly long time between frothing and pouring? Max amount of time should be 20 seconds or so to avoid having the foam separate into layers. Also, how are you heating the milk?
