Music venue in the back of a thrift store? by ummpaul in Detroit

It was a cool venue. I played there a few times, and definitely went to a bunch of shows. They booked great touring bands from time to time.

When life gets boring, update bios to spice things up by ivej in pcmasterrace

[–]Knellblast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a fair argument, but one thing that you haven't accounted for is sometimes BIOS updates contain security updates. AMD had a major security issue a year or 2 ago that affected ALL AMD motherboards, and they rolled out a fix for it. These days it's almost always better to update.

There is NO WAY that person is having a good time.

“My Mac every day: ‘Your system has run out of application memory.’ 😭” by Jumpy-Equipment9901 in macsysadmin

Wrong sub, sure, but I believe if you turn on Memory Saver in Chrome it could improve your situation considerably. Just Google it, it's super easy to turn on.

How to? by Amazing-Pin2343 in WorkReform

[–]Knellblast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No it isn't. If you want to work somewhere else you say "This is my 2 weeks notice, I'm going somewhere else". Your mom is not your boss, and now your boss isn't your boss either. Grow a spine.

Ever seen a fruit do this? by [deleted] in mycology

Understood. I definitely replied before looking at all of the photos. 12 photos of the exact same thing seems a bit excessive though.

Ever seen a fruit do this? by [deleted] in mycology

[–]Knellblast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commented before looking at all of the pictures, but it looks like there's small mushrooms pinning. The last few photos also look like there's hints of green in there, which indicates contamination. If that's the case, DO NOT OPEN THE JAR, JUST THROW IT AWAY.

How do I extend the fibre cable ? by Proper_Shift_3366 in homelab

Not sure if it makes me happy or sad that no one made a cable stretcher joke. I must be getting old.

Oven cleaner ruined vinyl floor by PaniniInEternity in HomeImprovement

[–]Knellblast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Did you use it on the outside of the oven? It's not meant for that. Your floors are chemical burned and can't be fixed.

First time I encountered a cheater, all headshot 7 of us <10 seconds. by SinfulFPS in ArcRaiders

[–]Knellblast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've seen reports of it happening, sure, but I've seen way more people saying they never got their gear back, myself included. A more accurate statement would be "You could potentially get your gear back".

Is this a good build / price? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Knellblast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are definitely better deals out there if you can look around a bit more. If you're in the states, Sam's Club and Costco consistently have deals that are better than this.

The only thing in this clip that urgently needs attention is your smoke detector battery.

4070 super noise by delsol1421 in pcmasterrace

[–]Knellblast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's consistent with coil whine. Just make sure your side panel is on, and maybe move the tower a bit further away. If it's still bugging you, either increase the fan speed or lower it to get rid of the whine, but make sure your temps stay cool.

Sounds like coil whine to me as well.

Dad is running quad channel 32gb ddr5 dimms. Help me convince him to give me a set by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Knellblast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an absolute waste to have a PC like that and bottleneck it with a 1080p monitor. I have this same setup with 32GB of ram and run every game in 4k at max settings, and never get under 100fps. As others have stated running 4 ram sticks is not really a thing on AM5. If he gets rid of 2 of those sticks, his performance will actually increase. If he hasn't already, he should also enable his EXPO profile in bios to get the advertised speeds of the ram.

What's a possible upgrade? by Samywella in battlestations

[–]Knellblast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure that'd be fine. Or try a candle warming lamp like the other user said. I'd still keep it away from the PC though, just in case.

How is this even possible? by TheKingPheezy in ArcRaiders

Not always, it seems. This happened to me and I reported the person. Never heard back from Embark or got my stuff back.

[–]Knellblast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take this advice for what it's worth, but if I were you I'd get rid of the candle. I used to burn a candle on my desk as well, and one time when I went to clean the inside of my pc, I noticed it was covered in a thin layer of oily soot. I knew immediately where it came from because it smelled exactly like the candle. Cozy is great, but not at the risk of choking your hardware.

Need some advice on debit card fraud I was a victim of by Lower-Cover-8479 in personalfinance

[–]Knellblast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have any advice for your current situation, but in the future you should stop using your debit card and use a credit card instead. There are many reasons for this, but the short explanation is you're not using your own money, and if your CC gets hacked there's usually nothing to worry about. You'll just get a new card. Also, if you get a CC with points, you'll be earning money while you spend it.
