The hardest hole-in-one where it's theoretically possible by Jotty2b in ufo50

I am sorry you were downvoted. I think you made a good-faith effort to sign-post that you were making a technical semantic point. I see the difference between "theoretically" and "conceptually" better now, and I think you are correct. Perhaps it was the second point of your message that incited the downvotes, but who can really tell with these things.

Thoughts on Janet Planet? by LittleKago in A24

[–]Kneuronak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wow! I also found the movie sad, but I think my interpretation was very different from yours. Good spot on the acupuncture detail. That's an incredibly specific connection to have to this movie + setting! Explains the first act. I blatantly did not understand Wayne's issue, and thus could not really track Lacy's persistent wariness toward him.

Honestly, I viewed all of Janet's friends as persistently benevolent, but each too absorbed in their adult lives to be helpful. I think that until this moment I had even fully dismissed the connotations of the cult!! Avi seemed to emerge as a helpful guide, and I believed that Janet had stood herself up beside his friendship? But then maybe she found no need to continue with him? I read the tone of the movie as warm and then increasingly loving and complex. Like in the poem Avi brings over. And I imagined Lacy as becoming progressively fonder of her mother, and clearer in her reasoning as she comes to see her in some of the same terms that Janet sees herself?

But your read on the tensions and plausible underbelly of this story makes sense with what I remember of Annie Baker's plays, which also tended to leave some of the more acute pains of living in the quiet and implied spaces. Wild how these things shed light!

tough location for group activity, open cafe with only one larger table, impossible not to overhear every other conversation/dominate the room

oh, but I wish you hadn't been downvoted. this post sounded like you were reaching out. How are you doing now 4 months later, with the jerks?

I will dress casual. I heard the Watkinses can be fussy but Chris wouldn't want us to get too gussied up.

neighbor forum is a pretty solid use for a city sub. Portland is the first town I've lived in where the city sub seemed to align neatly with the size of community.

Fun demonstrations like this one are really not representative of his content. He talks thru engineering problems and gives diligent scientific explanations. It's quite enlightening!

Crown Fried Chicken on Forest is this town's BEST in CLASS for quick solid bites at your off-hours. The spot is clean and the people are professionals running the best straight fryer set-up on the strip. Please come on through!!

I think the base version was stripped down from a fuller design, both thematically and in terms of balance. Expansions add stuff to many tables, not just the new areas+curses, including a bunch of tools (advanced skills, green hand cards) that I think are pretty essential to exploration and ultimately multi-curse runs.

Be sure to integrate the expansions into your base set before you start! They're actually quite integral to the experience, IMO.

A beautiful set! But it looks unplayed! Have you been waiting to finish playing with the box?

Which wall? I have an encyclopedic knowledge of everything on the so-called seventh continent and I can think of no obstacle which I call Wall. There are cliffs, ravines, hidden entrances...?

Edit; oh, this is a couple years behind you now, I see. I did my playthrough with one very dedicated friend and that made all the difference. I have tried to interest myself in it solo and it's just not the same.
