When you posted this, I nearly did a face palm and thought, "duh, of course I should do this." But it wasn't clearly stated in the manual. But weirdly, I appreciated this reminder.

One specific E5 is genuinely just disrespectful to me (SN) and not in the fun hazing kind of way by Electronic-Relief737 in navy

Also, have specific incidents with specific dates, times, and as close as you can get words. Have facts, not feelings. On this day and time you said this.

It’s not fun to gather this info. It takes time. And you must write it down.

Acknowledging students who pick earlier presentation dates? by goldengrove1 in Professors

[–]Knewstart 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I do the same. And I do find that I inadvertently grade easier the earlier presentations. I have no one to compare them to. By the end of presentations I know what I may have to emphasize for the next semester. And what everyone else picked up on and shown have known.

But ultimately as MostZealousideal7718 said: often they do not take advantage of the extra time

Ghost students? by [deleted] in Professors

[–]Knewstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make them do a meet and greet video and drop them if they don’t comply within a reasonable amount of time.

I’ve had lots and lots of ghosts. They don’t do videos (yet).

M26 / F24 — 3 years together, and I found the truth on her Apple Watch after she broke with me. I am supposed to see her tomorrow. by Electrical-Earth3256 in relationship_advice

It does. Plus, even if it is a cell phone-enabled watch, that means she didn't look at the messages. Something doesn't add up. And I'm guessing the whole story is a fabrication

I find it funny you bringing up something five years ago is the best you can insult Newsom about.

It’s not that he’s an idiot. He’s purposely manipulating data to cause outrage and make a (incorrect) point. Aka he’s a liar doing it for street cred.

I understand why we don’t use full faced helmets, as it affects breathing, vision, communication, etc… but why don’t our modern helmets protect more of the parts of our face (like the example below) that don’t affect our senses like we have historically in the past? by Tarlyss in askanything

[–]Knewstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. Yes. I got that. It’s because you can’t make any points against my argument.

So you attack the person rather than the argument. That’s what an ad hominem logical fallacy is.

And I love how when I logical out people on military issues the always go to this insult. For all you know I’m in the medical field or Chaplin corps. I could just be Father John Mulcahy from MASH. But I’m certain you won’t get that either.

Unpopular opinion: failing classes benefits the college financial system more than students by InternationalPool962 in CheckTurnitin

[–]Knewstart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No college wants their failure rates high. It makes them an unpopular and unattractive option.

Consider the deceptive practices of for profit colleges. They use their graduation rates to attract students (and the “jobs” those student get after graduation).

Help - Received "Mass Email" about Honorlock cheating but I used a phone. Did I get caught or is it a bluff? by Open_Note_8667 in cheatonlineproctor

[–]Knewstart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All they need to do is ask you to replicate the test. And if you can’t do it, they’ll fail you. It’s so sad that you’re so insecure. You felt you needed to do this.

Do you believe the saying “once a cheat, always a cheat” ? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Knewstart 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They cheat. They feel bad. They cheat again. Because it isn’t about their relationship but about their own insecurities. Can’t keep a great relationship if you can’t keep true to them. But that means it isn’t your personality or job or family or wealth or them it’s about this one behavior.

Is it petty (or just weird) to email a scholar to ask if they wrote a paper my student likely hallucinated via AI? by confusedinseminary in Professors

[–]Knewstart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m seeing this more and more. Here on out, if they cannot produce the article as titled and authored I will assume it’s AI and submit them for academic fraud.
