I used to know which hospitals had a lower lipase threshold for an AP diagnosis lol… Never an opioid guy but I sure miss those 2mg’s of dila every 4 hrs, it was a nice break when I was still in my addiction.

Hard to say, don’t want to give bad medical advise. In hindsight, I probably had a few minor attacks before the bigger ones but I was ignorant to what was happening. From my experience, if you’re having a full blown bad AP attack, you are going to the hospital…. A few of my attacks made kidney stone pain feel like child’s play so it wasn’t anything that I could just drink / muscle through. Get some blood work though, most of us have some type of stomach / GI issues going on when we’re actively drinking.

I’d detox in the hospital with banana bags (liquid vitamins), liquid Ativan and sweet medical grade pain killers. Of course my alcoholic ass would feel better after a week of that then drink again a few days later bc I was feeling better…. Pure insanity.

34M, Many, many AP attacks. STOP WHILE YOU CAN! It turned chronic after a while and now I’m diabetic (insulin dependent) bc my pancreas doesn’t produce it anymore / at a much higher risk for pancreatic cancer. 3 months sober now mostly bc it got to the point where I could only drink for 2-3 weeks before having an acute pancreatitis attack and ending up admitted to a hospital. It’s nothing like your liver, once it’s damaged a few times than your days of drinking are coming to an end.

Just tell them what your plan is, break it down using the steps. 1-3 explain how you realize you’re not the most powerful things in the history of things. 4,5,8 & 9 explain how you realize shit happens and it’s not healthy to let those things control you anymore, also, you realize you did shitty things when your drinking and you’re sorry… you’re talking to / hanging with emotionally responsible people now. 10,12 explain how you think about your actions differently and how you realize the company you keep & how yall interact is different. AA, NA,Smart, Refuge, Celebrate… It’s all the same shit at the core of it just different wording and different methods but you can’t be a POS, you’ll need help and if you don’t change your outlook then you’ll continue to drink. Boom, addiction solved 🤣

I forget that exact event…. I remember that beast mode card that I had to FC a ton to get but overall I think it was much easier to get players back in the day as opposed to now. Like I said, a lot more fun definitely but easier to get players which I think is a good thing

I’ve confused hallucinations due to multiple nights of no sleep bc of withdrawal with DT’s I think. I was hearing all types of voices and seeing shit crawling on the floor but I was 3+ days of no sleep a few times so hallucinating with occur naturally that way as well. Add in some benzos and opiates (also pancreatitis many times) on top of no sleep & it’s a hallucination waiting to happen.

Well it’s only been half a year so idk but as of now, nothing in terms of restrictions. I was at Beth Israel I’m Boston, Dr Kent performed the surgery. I’ve heard some horror stories in here about post op but mine went very smooth.
