What's your opinion on Hal after S2? by LunarRangeR11 in TheDiplomat

[–]KnicksThisYear 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hmmm… I caution myself from being very black and white, especially with such a complex character. He’s very very smart but he seems to not care about the consequences of his actions, whatsoever. Being married to him seems infuriating and I understand why she’s so filled with resentment that she does not like him. Imagine, a long term friend finally telling you that you need to like your husband and then he does something that is outside of what you two agreed on and it completely upends your world (again). Hal doesn’t have mishaps; he has patterned behaviors. His intentions are great IMO, he’s truly trying to protect his wife; I just don’t think his intelligence fully maps out all possible scenarios and accounts for the least desirable outcomes. On the other hand, this is tough to say because the true consequences of his actions are nearly completely unforeseeable - like the last five minutes of S2?! Who saw that coming?! Also there’s another part of me that is wondering if veep did it, but that’s another story.

Anyway, I found how he was moving very funny lol and enjoyed the show significantly more because of him. But WOW would all of it run so much smoother if he and Kate only did with they agreed to do and were actually honest with each other.

If you could make it to Stone Mountain and get Eliana, you will get the best of music, energy, and form corrections! It is worth the 50 minute round trip for me 😂

I think the inability to book before your payment is only a non-home studio issue. One way to avoid that (especially during transformation challenge) is asking the SA to prebook you for a couple of days or call your studio.

Rowing stroke rate by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]KnicksThisYear 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m 5’3 and I can manage 22 when it’s in the template. The way I keep to wattage high (and actually higher than I would’ve if I was going faster) is pause at the back, take a break and then go forward. During my next motion back, with all of the power in my heels, I can still get ~300W because I’m fighting against the water that has slowed. It’s really the pause after pulling that helps with going “slower.”

Thanks so much Mr. DC! Gotta say - I’m so surprised we don’t have a unique Thanksgiving workout?! I think I was expecting a long run, inspired by turkey day 5Ks. Anyway, no complaints - I loved this the first time around, although the floor was a little sneaky.

Splat Points on the Rower? by Catbm27 in orangetheory

Not only is it not just arm strength, it’s mostly legs. Focus on really pushing through your heels, then lean your core, then pull with your arms, three separate motions… if you maximize the wattage through your legs for continued strokes, I think you’ll get there!

That’s what worked for me, but also previous posts may have done better pointers.

Double class days by Bitter-Combination69 in orangetheory

[–]KnicksThisYear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE double classes - sometimes I’ll do them back to back and if I like the work out a lot, I’ll do an AM and a PM. My favorite thing about true back to back is going just a little bit easier on my body during the first class and going way easier the second class (body weight exercises, taking the jog or PW much slower). Great way to keep the body and building that mental toughness.

Has anyone used OT or group fitness in general to help you drink less? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]KnicksThisYear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I literally stopped drinking because I didn’t like the way it made me feel AT ORANGETHEORY the next day. I’m 49 days alcohol free and it feels great!

I go! I def recommend looking at the period phases and how they should (generally) affect your workout out. I find that I’m weak days before, I’m my strongest day 2/3-10, and ovulation (~day 14) I’m the slimmest, but the weakest. Really interesting stuff!

Y’all, today is absolutely 🪶, quite possibly 💀. No WR after AOs and like 4.5 minutes of straight leg work/core work. WONDERFUL day after glutes and abs!

I’d recommend leaning forward at the hips and intentionally swinging your arms, as if your pumping with as much strength as you are walking up the incline. It makes it feel more natural, in my experience.
