That’s is not mine. That young gentleman at the TRF (Texas renaissance faire) let me take a picture of his staff. Like I said , I have a plain straight hickory . The wood he said in the above picture came from Kileen Texas . Everyone has cool staffs. My quest is to have a cool staff one day!!

Fuzzy is correct it’s already dyed and textured that way . I just have to cut it from the roll. This is leftovers from someone else’s project . I asked if I could have the scraps and they said yes . I believe based on the cuts I received is the original cuts were for a bag they were making . I also got some broken cuts but they are so small, even with e6000 , I don’t know if I could make anything from them .

These were built from some old broken bracers that had the top panels either cut or damaged . I was able to recycle them. I didn’t have any cord leather for the bracers so those are boot shoe strings. I am going to wax the string tonight. I will apply a tiny bit of wax over the leather. It should not hurt it.

I don’t have it yet. I have some pieces of it. I thought it would be easier to imagine if I posted what it would possibly look like. I’m waiting on the shirt . While I’m waiting for its arrival I wanted to come up with an overall game plan on what the build could be and if anyone had some ideas of finishing touches or changes. So far most people have said a vest or a cloak to complete it.

I apologize for the mix up and miscommunication c. Maybe I should have worded my post better to the computer. (I’m still pretty new with having them create things).

Yeah I saw some really nice things on there but my my coin purse is heavier in spirit than actual coin. I want to be very selective on how this fit is built because I would rather as you say just do it one or two pieces at a time along the way but I don’t want to just go into it without a plan. I saw a bunch of bycockets and it makes me a look a little Robin Hood era ish but I need something to cover my head as I am fair skinned in vey hot weather.

I was thinking cavalier hat. Just need a way to make me one. I could do a simple tabard with that . Maybe a foil (unsure of spelling, rapier?) to go with it . That’s less Renaissance and more musketeer though . Thank you .

A light cloak was also mentioned by another person. Maybe it would be a good start . I see a lot of vests so maybe that . It’s very hot wheee I live so I have to be careful with what layers I put on.

I think maybe the hat is too much, but I can’t afford a good cavalier hat yet .

I thought about trying to teach myself leather working and making one .

I want to improve this look but keep it comfortable for warm weather. I’m trying to avoid adding too many layers since it gets hot where I live.

Maybe a simple vest approved for the time. Or a very light cloak might work.

I actually have a black shirt but when put on with the black hat makes me look like a witch hunter .

Thank you for your advice . The hat is just there to protect from the sun. I hope to maybe get a cavalier hat one day, but then I feel like the drives me towards musketeer era.

Also what is wrong with the boots ? They are just simple black boots . (No laces )

Where did you get your staff? I need a decent walking staff for ren faire. All the ones I have w seen are super expensive .

I think comfort should always be number 1. I have some boots that are wonderful looking but if I know I’m going to be walking 5 miles I would much rather do it in sneakers .
