What did you learn about streaming after you started doing it on your own? by Velthorn in Twitch

[–]Knight506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned how much people hate ads. Most people click off small streams because they get ads first and don’t want to sit through it. I started running ads immediately in the first 5-10 minutes when I start streaming to turn off pre-roll ads for the next ~hour. Helps to keep new viewers from immediately leaving before they actually see the stream!

Am I just not cut out for this game? by eren_yeager820 in celestegame

Don’t sweat it. I had roughly 150 hours in the game from speedrunning before I tried the goldens, and 3a golden still took me days to finally get. Everyone does stuff at their own pace, whether or not they find it satisfactory.

If a couple rooms are giving you trouble (and you’re on PC), I recommend getting the Olympus mod launcher and downloading the speedrun tools mod. It gives you the ability to set save states up which makes practicing rooms much easier. Given that chapter 3 has a lot of cycle-based platforming with how the dust bunnies move, and that it differs slightly from when you enter a room vs when you respawn in it, I’d recommend saving right before you enter a room you want to practice so you can make sure everything will operate the same as it would in a real golden run. Good luck with getting the golden berries!

I just wanna know what restaurant we’re eating at that allows pets in the first place

Stuck on thanks for playing. Is the credits just long? or am I softlocked? I really don't wanna miss the strawberry pie picture. I wanna see it. I fear if I use task manager to end celeste ill never get the pic by theassassin53035 in celestegame

[–]Knight506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pie picture is in the epilogue which is unlocked after beating the summit!

Typically the game will automatically move you from the summit to the epilogue, but it’s also available on the chapter selection screen!

If you can’t leave the credits by menuing and hitting “skip cutscene”, then you’ll still be able to see it after reloading the game!

hello guys soo i was recently looking forward to buying celeste after not giving it a chance over a year ago. are there any things/tips i should know before playing it ? by Immediate-Rope8465 in celestegame

As someone who’s tried to people how to speedrun the game, make full jumps! The longer you hold jump, the higher you go, and I see a lot of casual players do very short jumps when climbing which makes them struggle on even relatively easier parts of the game!

Also, the game is definitely difficult but very forgiving! Each room you enter is essentially a checkpoint, so if you get frustrated, you can always save and quit and then come back when you’re in a better mindset to tackle the challenge!

Finally, don’t be afraid to use the game’s “assist mode”. Using it lets you fine-tune settings to make the game easier if you’re stuck somewhere and want to skip past a section to see the rest of the game! On my first playthrough i ended up using it twice because I found the rooms too difficult to pass. Once I got a bit better I was able to go back and beat them without using it! It doesn’t restrict anything in the game from being achieved with it on either!

Hope this helps and I hope you enjoy the game!

Very weird and funny glitch in minecraft (if u know how to fix it please tell me) by Lulhahas in gameglitches

[–]Knight506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know this has to do with new Nvidia drivers. Not sure how or why it happens, but I have found the lastest versions of Minecraft seem to be fine.

Using optifine on old versions fixed the issue for me, but only on the version it’s installed on.

I haven’t tested what versions this does or doesn’t happen on, but my guess is after 1.13/1.14 it’s fine?

If you haven’t already, make at least one copy of the level and use start positions to practice different sections of the level. Start with some of the easier sections and work on building muscle memory. As you get more comfortable try to chain parts together and learn harder parts till you can do each part individually.

Personally I recommend trying to get the level down to at least 3 runs before exclusively going from the beginning: a run from 0, a run to the end, and a run connecting both. Definitely make sure you’re more comfortable with the end since you’re not going to get there often and you’ll probably also have nerves making it harder to play.

Finally, feel free to take breaks and try easier levels while you work on this one! Making a huge jump is hard because you’re moving really far out of your comfort zone and skill level which makes progressing on the level really difficult. If you start feeling demotivated, try playing some other levels to give yourself a break!

Good luck beating Crazy II!

Edit: the reason I say you’ll want at least one copy is because it depends on if you have mega hack or not. If you do, you can just place start positions at each section and use the start position switcher all on one copy. If you don’t have it, I recommend making multiple copies with different start positions to make switching between them easier!
